3 months for $50? That's a rip off service lol.
Good deal for those that need a receiver.

You get three free months free, a $50 credit in service essentially with the gift card and a free receiver. Not quite $50 for 3 months, more like $50 for 5-6 months and a free receiver to boot. (if you have Sirius in your car, looks like you resell these for $20-25, which makes your 6 months cost even less)

My service is up soon. I'll do the free 3 months and go back to paying for it after the trial is up. Good deal.

You can use this in home correct, just need an external speaker? Are those pricey?

I have 3 months remaining so I assume the card can be used just to add service to my streaming plan...?

I had free service with my new car for 3 months and can't get it why people pay for this why there are so many better alternatives.
No other service Carrie's Howard Stern. There is no alternative for their show.

what are some good alternatives? I can only think of streaming spotify/pandora music when driving but a) eats up so much data b) data coverage can be crappy outside of major cities
If you have Spotify premium you can download songs and playlists so you don't have to use that data

For someone that travels into areas with spotty cell coverage, and wants to listen to sporting events, what are the options?

If I hadn't just bought a discounted Spotify card, I probably would have tried this. People have been saying for years that they get this service for cheap after calling to cancel... Maybe less than $4 per month? I don't remember, but it's way less than Spotify
You get what you pay for. The audio quality is terrible. Equal to about 96kbps at best.

It's so compressed sounding I won't even listen to it for free.

Yes. Since the vast majority of radios out there cannot accept anything but their current data type, upgrading is basically impossible.

It sounds awful to me.

I think it's even worse now than what it used to be when XM initially started. Every time they do this free days of streaming the quality just sucks.
