Great deal. Nice AMOLED screen and metal body. I believe it's on the list to eventually get Pie.

Afaik, from a friend who has the Z2 Play from Motorola.com, the Verizon ROM is needed for Verizon WiFi calling, unlike the version from Moto directly. So, this Best Buy model should have Verizon WiFi calling.

Although, the version of the Z2 Play from Moto has 4/64 for RAM/storage, compared to this 3/32.

So I could technically use this on a line that doesn't have DPP, and due to no bill credit, at any point can just pay off the phone, do it again... Right? Tempted. Cracks in my pixel XL screen bug me, but I'll be moving to Xfinity soon and don't want DPPs

What would be the advantages of the Z2 Play (Verizon) at $99 vs the G6 (unlocked) at $80? It looks like the Z2 has a better processor, but same ram and storage, and smaller screen size/resolution. Just trying to see for similar cost if the Z2 is that much better or if I should hold out for Moto X4 to go on sale again.

So I just picked this up at Best buy and it is not activated yet. Would I be better off activating it or just selling it as new? Does it work on any other carriers?

Isn't this just a Z2 Force with a weaker processor but bigger battery?

I plan on getting this for the old lady. She's never had anything smarter than a Blackberry, so if she hates it or breaks it, at least I won't be out $1,000.

I guess I better activate it. My Verizon app shows a pending order. It does give me the option to cancel it. Wonder how that would work since I've already paid for the phone in full using the previously available activate now option?

EDIT: Well this is very interesting. Turns out the pending order from My Verizon is the XR I bought from Target last week. This phone order is not showing up anywhere on My Verizon. I turned the phone on to activate it like normal and it is saying activation can not be completed. I am wondering if when I paid the activate now price of $99.99 before they took that option away if I slipped into some kind of loophole. The phone is definitely not activating with the pre installed sim card. I am afraid to contact Best Buy or Verizon because they may want the phone back or cause some other trouble.

Following closely. I did $99 pay now and going to pick this up tomorrow. I had the banned unlimited data for years using loopholes, thought I was done with that.

Also, if you didn't activate, I think it was $299 they will bill you. You might just have an issue because you used your "Upgrade" last week.

This was bought adding a line. I think I will chat with a Verizon rep and see if they can activate it and waive the $30 fee for my troubles. Definitely do not want to see a $299 bill!

Verizon chat told me to go to Best buy for them to activate. The rep waived 15 of the 30 upgrade fee for my Target xr purchase last week.
