You checked the PC version. Did you fail to note that this Slickdeal is for the Xbox and PS4 versions?
Which have been voted much lower due to massive, unpatched bugs?
Why do you LIE about things we can check?
Implying a game didn't receive a rating that it did receive is lying. Noting that it did indeed receive the rating that it was said to receive is not lying.

The end.

In case people are wondering: The developers are Czch and didnt feel they needed to represent people of color or other marginalized groups during the time and place of the games setting.

I say this as impartially as possible, because the strong reactions to the game made me wonder, and I thought some other people might also be wondering.

If it isnt helpful, feel free to delete.

Wow. Are there people actually offended about this? Lack of diversity in pixels? What does the nationality of the developers have to do with it? God help us.

Where's this bad review? I've heard there being problems between PS4 and PC. But this is supposed to be the greatest game ever made to a lot of people.

The two games this post is about did NOT get a 76 Metacritic. PS4 has 69, and xbox has 68.

Saying that the games in this post got a 76 Metacritic score is LYING.

tldr: Shills post a higher score for a different version of the game. These console versions are very buggy. It's no wonder the price is falling so fast. In two months there will be plenty of them in the bargain bins for a few bucks.

So the review looks pretty bad... but is it worth $15? How is it on regular PS4?
I'm playing this right now on vanilla PS4. I'm about 70 hours in with minimal trouble. It's a tremendous RPG that borrows much from Skyrim. Great stories, well acted story NPC's, historically accurate. Combat takes some getting used to and is, especially at first, slow and clumsy, but deepens as you gain experience and learn to utilize more combat skills. Anyways, how agile can you expect a knight to be, in plate armor and with heavy weapons?

It's a great game for an RPG fan.

I suppose it's sort of "catch-22". If they had included the people you mentioned, historically they would have been in menial positions and probably treated pretty badly.
So the developers would have probably been called out for that as well.

One reason why this game is so badly reviewed is that some of the most important things like lock picking and pickpocketing and combat are ridiculously overly complicated and pointlessly difficult, not just to win, but to control.
I understand where you're coming from, but don't agree. I was frustrated with exactly those things when I started the game. Lockpicking especially. But with patience and practice, skill slowly builds and becomes easier. At about level 10, I can now pick locks easily and quickly, I can fight off knights in full armor. The game opens up and smooths out but, yeah, you start off as a clumsy oaf and only get better slowly.

Can you take an arrow to the knee?
Unfortunately the writing is nowhere near that good. They want to be Skyrim, but with much worse writers and quest designers.

A good price, but the bugs and difficulty on the PS4 version are putting me off. Plus I feel like this could be a PS+ game in the not too distant future.

Yeah I have that feeling too... or a GotY version that includes DLC. Very tempting at this price though.

His question was "...don't feel like grinding out the combat. Is it possible to set the game to a very low difficulty or such in settings?"
Your answer confirms he would be frustrated with this game. As the bad metacritic reviews show.

Indeed, no argument. The game's not for everyone. I can recommend it VERY highly for RPG fans, especially those with an interest in medieval Europe, and for patient players who, like me, get big satisfaction out of watching their character slowly, slowly grow into a strong and capable hero. Skyrim's growth mechanic, where you get better by doing, is used in this game with super satisfying results.

Don't even look at Meta critic imo. Look at Reddit, other gaming sites, your friends, steam reviews, etc. Meta critic isn't the end-all be-all metric for great games. It's a half-decent guide but anyone relying on Metacritic WILL miss out on some very good games, and also end up buying some very bad ones.

The best example of this for me personally was when Dragon age:Inquisition came out.

Dragon Age Inquisition has an 89 for PS4, but I consider it one of the worst RPG's of it's type ever made. As in, laughably bad. DA Origins was a 10/10 for me but DA:I is literally a 1/10 imo. I've tried to get into DA:I at least 3 times now, each time wondering how in the world such an awful game got such good reviews.

The PC version of this game was fantastic. One of the best I have played.

The game came out in Feb 2018 (corrected typo) so don't think it went through a rapid price drop as some imply.

Also, the game is buggy. Almost every reviewer notes bugs. However, the developers have patched multiple times to date and it's last patch as recent as 2/5.

Even some of the more negative reviews praise aspects of the game. If anything, several praise the realistic/simulation of medieval life at the same time how it makes game boring and tedious at times. Story and Voice work has gotten pretty consistent praise. Many make clear this isn't for everyone. A small # of folks think it is garbage.

Bottom line, I don't get some people just focused on slamming this game when clearly a number of people do enjoy it.

A year old game isn't going to have shills, and based on mostly mediocre reviews, I don't see a lot to support that claim.

My son loves this game and put in a couple dozen hours. He never complained about bugs.
