Have tried both with our cleaning business. Maybe for light cleaning there isn't a difference but I will gladly pay the premium for the Magic Erasers. They are head and shoulders above the generics.

Not to rain on your parade, but if you search melamine sponge on ebay, you can buy a ton really cheap, basically generic magic eraser. I actually haven't used the mr clean brand one, so I can't say if there is a big difference.

Big price difference for generic...even on Amazon. Here is one for $6.53 for 100 pieces of roughly the same size as the 4 in this box.

That's 6.53 cents a piece versus 63 cents a piece. That's like a 2,500% price difference if my math is right (change in price divided by ave x 100). Never used generics but wow, there is a price difference.

Yeah I definitely considered that, but decided that I would post for those that like the brand (and this seems to be frontpage price range for the brand). Having used only the brand, I am in the same camp as you.....not really knowing the difference. I would hope it is in the longevity. Thanks for the feedback.

i used both. there is a world of difference between ones shipped from China and Magic eraser, but only if Magic eraser is the "strong?" or something similar. lesser kinds are the same. i will pay for the brand name "strong (or something similar in the name) kind. those are so much better.

lol at the idiots td'ing your comments. same product on ebay for FAR cheaper.
It's all good. I think generics work for my use cases. For a cleaning business I could see why you would want something more effective, but I get 25x more sponges for 4x the cost. I still might try out one set to compare. Just giving people options.
