Is this one of the ones that's easily unlocked for Tmo/ATT, or not so much?

If you are upgrading or adding a line to your Sprint account there is a $45 one time activation fee. The $80 becomes $125.

I would be a new customer, and I am also seeing a $45 activation fee:

One-Time Activation Fee $45.00
but it is being charged by Sprint, not Best Buy. pretty crappy deal when the activation fee costs 64% of what the phone costs.

FYI: Moto G7 just announced and previewed with release soon. That means this G6 phone will continue to drop in price for a few months.

Is BYOD plan eligible for this?? I have tried to do it 3 times with 2 different phones. It says I am not eligible. I wondered if it is because it is BYOD or if it is because I need to do something on my Sprint plan that I haven't done yet. I haven't had it very long.

From what I understood of the free BYOD plan, you are only eligible to upgrade your line after having it for more than 120 days, and when you upgrade it can only be through sprint.com since either Telesales needs to do it manually or fix your upgrade date on their side so that you can order through sprint.com.

In the past, ordering through Best Buy would give me an error that my plan was not eligible and either it would hard stop or give me an option to change my plan (cancelling the free BYOD). There were a few posts in the BYOD master thread and elsewhere that mentioned you could try adding a new line on a "regular" plan and then cancelling it to preserve your BYOD lines, but I think that has to be done in-store at Best Buy.

I've been looking for deals on Best Buy, but I think for us free BYODers, ideally we'd need something where the "Activate Later" price is the same as the sale price so that we can get the phone without any restrictions. Not sure how often that happens, though.

Very important point.

For $150 you can get a Moto X4 unlocked (plus a $40 Cricket airtime card you can sell, use, or throw away) at Best Buy. Only $25 more for a lot more phone.

So, I guess the other thread that says to get the mint mobile card and sim and then sell the mint prepaid card is the best way to go then.

By buying this one, we can't activate under BYOD free plan. They will force us to take kick start plan$25/month. Yesterday I bought G6 with full price and ordered Sprint 1 year free SIM.

Can I use this on an existing line at the $80 price? The gal at Best buy said that I need to activate a new line.
ATT says "with new activation" and Sprint says "with activation".
I assumed I could activate it to an existing line.
