I'd like to also know your thought on why its better. I just need something to do some auto polishing on some light scratches. Just curious.

I have this sander, a lot nicer than my old 1/4 sheet pad sander. I bought a ton of pads for it on amazon for cheap and they work well. Everyday price is $69 at lowes, or $62 after coupon. Mine came with a soft case, which is fine for my needs, it's not something I transport.

No, that is not a good idea for this. Buy a real polisher if that is what you are looking to do.

You want a DA Polisher. Sanders run at too high of RPMs.
