Damn CA tax sucks. $758.35 for the phone however much to ship to get you and and PayPal or venmo fee. Sorry might only attract another CA person with the high tax I paid.

Thanks been waiting for this... our Nexus 6P's are no longer getting security patches and starting to have boot loader & texting issues.

Really wanted to like the One Plus but not lovin' the on screen finger print reader and the single down facing speaker.

Samsung & Apple don't do it for me either. Too bad when ur spending this much how few choices there really are.

Even the Pixel has more shortcomings than I like. Fragile back glass, too little ram and that notch but in the end it seems to be the best option given the alternatives...
In the same boat, even with a cracked screen... (6P) looks like I'll be going with a used pixel 2 XL...

Apparently Huawei (the OEM of the Nexus 6P) still has several NEW (not refurbished) models remaining on hand.

Several months ago when my phone began cratering with severe battery depletion, terminal boot loader issues preventing the phone from ever starting and a defective USB-C port. I called and was told they could repair the phone and replace the battery and screen (apparently this is required as the LCD is damaged during battery replacement) for $163.00

I reluctantly agreed hoping to bide more time. So I paid up front and sent it in. In about a week they notified me the phone was defective and irreparable. But they offered me a choice of either returning the phone to me and fully refund my money (including the shipping). Or they could send me a NEW 6P 128GB replacement. The only downside on the replacement color was no black only silver or white. Apparently they set aside a number of new 6Ps years ago in case this situation ever happened to customers while still under warranty.

I went for the replacement and did get a new Nexus 6P in silver. Everything worked beautifully except soon after my wife's identical phone began misbehaving the same as mine. It was right about then that this Pixel sale appeared and so after thinking long and hard we went for the Pixel.

I plan to keep my 6P as a spare since I learned my lesson during this previous repair. It's a long process from the time you send the phone and Huawei's inspection/repair/replacement time. Be warned this is a LONG process as I was without a phone for 3 days shy of a month!

I know some of you may have thought it would be smarter to save the money and just get another new 6P but after long hard consideration I felt we'd be better off to upgrade since the security patches had stopped in December. Also for at least the next 2 years or so Google will allow unlimited high resolution storage of your pics and a few other perks.

All the other negatives regarding the Pixel are still on my mind so I don't view this as a slam dunk...

Also depending on how you feel about Huawei as a company in this current political climate you may want to just move on.

But for some it might be worthwhile replacing your defective 6P that is if Huawei still has enough on hand.

the 6t is a great phone. unless there is something specific for the pixel you need, I'd go with the 6T.
Got the 6t delivered yesterday and it has been fantastic - early indications are that I will stay with oneplus until their or googles stratergy changes. The minor tweeks that they have done to the UI are what I had wished pixel had ( Ablity to go to previous next song & flashlight with gestures). If the support ends up being as good as indications are, they are going to keep growing. Beautiful product.

No. Like you said, the camera is the main difference and the port gets you 80-90% of the way there.

OxygenOS is far better than stock Android no matter what the fancy blogs say. Everything else on the 6T is better, hw and sw.

The only thing you may not know is Pixel comes with unlimited original quality storage on Google Photos for next 2-3 years. That may be worth a lot or not to some people.

In many ways a Pixel 2XL is just as good as the Pixel 3.
Thanks - yes I am aware of the pixels unlimited storage and internally have made up my mind to move all the photos to onedrive ( I get 1TB w/ my O365 subscription). Being on Windows platform, OneDrive is better integrated for my photo needs anyhow. But thank you for pointing that out. FWIW, Google unlimited storage is only for a period of time (they may extend it) and w/ OneDrive + 256GB local storage, I should be good to go until the next upgrade in a 18 months.

FWIW, I do photography as a hobby and totally admire what google has done in s/w for nightsight. I am betting that it will make it to mainstream soon enough. In the meantime, I will be using a camera port.

Yes, Office365 is a pretty good deal. And I read a few comparisons where it was impossible to tell the difference between compressed and original photos on Google Photos so I think for most people its not even needed. From what I've read the Pixel 2 and 3 have the photo storage deal for 2 years while the original Pixel has it forever.

What the hell is going on ... all these crazy deals on Pixels is making my head spin.

But why would you to the B1G1 when Target is giving you 450 off the front on 1 phone?
