I bought one from Ledger itself around Christmas. Was around $50 shipped from Europe. Took several weeks and works great. Only way to be 100% sure your digital investments are secure. Good buy, not from a 3rd party though.

You should only buy hardware wallets directly from the manufacturer if you are gonna use it for any real store of coins

Something about ownership change and recently sending refurbs for new.

But anyway as a crypto owner I highly recommend you never buy these from 3rd parties.

It's sold by "Ledger Official". I think this is their official storefront on Newegg.

Yep, the UPS delivery driver dude who picks up packages from Ledger every morning in Europe to ship out around the world, is probably a hacker swapping the units.

Also only buy from manufacturer , NOT NEWEGG OR EVEN AMAZON, because there are fakes [trezor.io]

Even if not fake it could be swapped unit.

I would trust an old non-Chinese Android phone that has nothing installed on it and sits off in the drawer next to my passport more than any of this hardware crap ready to get hacked one day. Hardware security doesn't matter even if its 100% bulletproof because when you still have to use a PC software to access the coins and they could be hacked at that time if the PC is infected. The reason I said nothing installed on Android is because there are many apps and games proven to be recording your on screen stuff, one of which is Glassbox [mashable.com].
