You are essentially buying a subscription to use ESET's Internet Security product. The one year subscription starts when you enter the product key in the software. You can always upgrade to the latest software version as it becomes available as long as your subscription hasn't expired. If you don't have 3 PCs, you can hook up your friends or extended family as well. No need to be on the same network.

Good deal.

Reasons to buy this (Internet Security) over standalone NOD32 anti-virus?

I see the feature list of additional functionality but how practical is all of that stuff, and does it impact performance?

Thanks!

I've never had just the anti-virus. I don't notice much of a hit with this while normally operating. I like this because it has features like blocking access to websites that are dangerous, blocking scripts that try and run on the web, firewall and network capabilities. Then it's supposed to be able to lock and find devices if they are stolen, like laptops. But I'm not sure which features are unique to this over the virus scanner. This is more of an "all in one" protection.

I would say the full package is worth it over NOD32 for the firewall functionality, but I suppose that's not as appropriate for everyone.

Been using ESET for maybe 8 years now. It used to be that I had to expect to yearly wipe and reinstall for some bug in my system. I haven't had to do anything since I installed ESET. I also do some custom system building on the side and have put it on plenty of other systems. No one has ever had an issue with it. Price is good.

Have had zero problems with detection. I know there are others like Kaspersky that rate slightly higher for detection, but they do that at the cost of false detections in my experience. ESET is light, and I have very few if any false detection I do a lot of the stuff that would generally get a PC infected. I just do it with immunity now. Between the firewall and NOD32. Highly recommended. 10/10 Wouldn't try something else because there is no reason and ESET is heavily proven.

Buyers should know that out of date software is often available on fleabay for similar prices. ESET allows free upgrades from previous versions as long as the key is still good. Its almost always available cheaply this way. Never renew through the app or you will pay near full price.

Its generally better to operate without spyware. Big Grin

Seriously though, spyware/malware/ransomware are all covered. If you scroll down and expand "legendary antivirus protection" on this page you will see those covered. https://www.eset.com/us/home/internet-security/

Thanks OP. Bought a similar slickdeal a year ago and those licenses expire in a couple weeks. Perfect timing!

For those looking for the component-by-component difference between NOD32 and Internet Security, see here:
https://www.eset.com/us/home/for-windows/

This is a pretty decent price- though I was hoping for another 2-year or 3-year deal because re-upping every year makes finding coupons or deals a pain in the butt.

In for one- plus Mom and Dad get a copy too, I guess!

In for one, but remember when Eset was always free-after-rebate a couple years ago?
