I have these speakers that I purchased a few months ago from Andorama. I paid the same price but also got the Csim704c center channel speaker included. Mine are black. Great speakers but they are very directional and do not have a wide sound stage.

What's the story on these it seems this is a reoccurring deal, does anyone ever pay 3k or is it a artificial sale they always run? I want to spend 1000 for a pair of decent front channel speakers but it's looking a lot like these are not really 2k off at all. Any suggestions on which pair to buy?

I would recommend the Klipsch rp-280f floorstanding speakers. I have a pair of those and the rp-160m bookshelf speakers. Both have excellent sound reproduction and soundstage. They are not too shrill to listen too either as the horn on the reference premier series is a rubber like material and not hard plastic. The cabinetry is much better than the big box store reference series below it.

This goes to FP within few hours 😄....

And regarding your question, I would recommend RP-280F
Even though this deal come quite often here , SD makes its to FP go get his promotion going ... adorama pays well to SD

Efficiency 88db. You will need minimum of 150 watt per channel to get descent loud volume (room size dependant).

May be 100w, but not typical AVR 100watt.

You will need to give these babies some juice to get their potential. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

Since most people either got these PLUS a 704c center channel for this price... or the 707's for $50 more... I'd be in no hurry to jump.

The build quality on these would be better than Klipsch (rp). I have owned both. Sound signature is very different. Polk is warm (good for music and certain genres) while Klipsch let's just is not quite (but awesome for HT use and some genres of music like rock).

I agree. All the Polk speakers I own have fantastic build quality and cost less than klipsch. They have a warmer sound too like you said. I would love to try these 705s out for a comparison to my rp-280fs

What in the hell do you guys mean they sound warm? I heard of warm as in temperature or color, but sound? What does that even mean and why do people always describe sound with words not typically associated with noise lol

warm = sun = orange/yellow-ish?
cool = water = blue-ish?

Is there something similar for sound?

Warm means less treble in the overall balance of the sound. Some people like this, some don't. Generally more high means more details you would hear but it also tend to make it fatiguing on your ears after a long session. I tend to like it slightly "scooped V" sound where the treble and bass are a bit exaggerated rather than completely flat sound.

It is just an alias, to shortly describe speakers with decent low and mid and not harsh highs, same way people talk about wine Stick Out Tongue
