Are you kidding? I bought 2 of these a decade ago and worked them hard and they're like new.

These are a buy-it-for-life tool, tool.

Knipex cobra. Trust me. Worth the money.
KNIPEX 87 01 180 SBA Cobra Pliers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004H36...zCbJ97W4WC
These are half the weight, grip 3 times better, open almost twice as wide, adjust easier. and fit into tighter areas.
The larger 10in ones are actually cheaper than these right now.

I own 5 various sizes and have had for 10 yrs as well. Assuming they're still made the same, they're bulletproof. The smaller pairs are awesome.

Vs knipex? They're different animals. I agree the knipex are better at grabbing and holding, I just can't stand the whole push button adjusting. Perhaps if I spent more time with them.

There's nothing wrong with these. Normal price fluctuates between this and $12 on CCC. $17.98 seems like a reach for 6.5 inch. You could probably buy a 2 wrench set at your local box store for that

The Knipex 10" comes up at $26.99 using your Amazon link. I'd buy it in a heartbeat for $9.

EDIT: You must mean cheaper than the Knipex 6".

They aren't made like they are used too. A lot of Channel Locks have burred edges and aren't finished correctly anymore. It's in the reviews. My tool chest is filled with knipex because of that.

Also this is an average price. I've seen it lower on Amazon.

Channellock used to be a professional quality tool. Although I believe they are better than homeowner grade, their quality had slipped in the last few years.
Even noticable variances in play and alignment between pairs of the same, brand new tools.
They are not bad tools by any means, and this is a decent price, but you're not getting the tools your father bought years ago.
