that's because it does not exist shake head

up-selling means in addition to,
so whatever the base 100 rate is
they add $20 to up-sell you to 300.

ergo, if you are being offered 300 for 60
your market probably has 100 for 40 now.
oh i misread that... prolly has to do with how tired I am from trying to get my car unstuck out of the snow to try and get to work for some time today....

yea around here they are trying to keep upsale through cable... like who I am with (i understand their sales people are just doing their jobs) but I about lost it when they wanted to "upgrade me" to 100 down but get cable and phone service for only 10 dollars more a month...

I dont understand why they can't have accurate information on what I currently subscribe to... which is 250.. I think it has something to do with special pricing I already get (I'll give that to who I am with... pay your bill on time for 2 years and they give you like 30 percent discount on anything)

problem is if I lived 50 miles south I could get gigabit for 85 a month....

sheesh I wish this was available here... I pay 130 a month for 300/30.. Just upgraded from 70 a month for 50/10 to get this & honestly the upload still feels like a bottleneck at times. Have 2 households running on it though with a total of 4 adults, 2 tweens & 3 younger children. Netflix, Hulu & Plex usage galore. Last month which was my first month on the new plan we used just over 1.7TB of data.

So for those that say you dont need this fast.. Some of us certainly do.

I don't know if I've had a weird experience then. I had 100/100 for $40 and when I looked at upgrading they gave me 300/300 for $45 a month. That being said, I think these deal isn't a fantastic price for 300/300 since I'm paying $15 less per month. I'd say keep an eye out for other random promotions they have for plans or upgrading. (I think I caught a random promotion whenever I upgraded)

I don't understand why Fios isn't everywhere, considering their cell towers are everywhere... Hold on, I'm not going to think too much about it, let me go to their FAQ...

When will Fios come to my area?

"The Fios coverage map currently spans from New York and Massachusetts, along the East Coast, reaching all the way to Virginia."

Brilliant answer!!!

As far as speed goes for just Internet... I don't have all the bells and whistles, just want Internet, would rather be outside... That being said, the advertised speeds are all a gimmick.

I have 110 / 9 right now, but my Sister in a different county has her only option, which is 10 / 2 or less... It's the "slowest" I have seen, yet her computer is just as fast as mine, and we both have almost the same i5.

On a different note, what's with all the 50% off Netflix gift cards listed on ebay?

They should add rental free modems to all plans and if this would be 49.99 people will be all over it 😁
Their modem is trash. Ethernet from the ONT box ftw

Now THAT is a deal! 300/300 for $45? I'm going to see if I can get that!

Fios speed is not a gimmick. Internet speed does not affect your computer speed.

Its not a gimmick with fios typically. I've had 25, 50,and now 100 mbps always measuring just over those values when I do a speed test.

Now, it also depends on what you need. Yahoo webmail won't be one but faster with 300 compared to 5mbps. Two streams of Netflix sure won't max out but will be much more reliable above 25mbps. A large download (or upload) is where you'll really get value. Videos uploaded to a sharing site will scale almost linearly with your upload speed.

If you're happy with your internet then there is no need to change anything.

Can you get ethernet from the ont without Verizon forcing you to rent a modem anyway? I've still got a "free" modem at 100/100 for $99 with 1 TV and DVR so I'm not moving now, but at some point when this deal expires we may consider internet only plus YouTube TV

You need their "modem" if you have their TV service as it is necessary for the TV boxes.

It's also a router, not a modem.

Yes. I've been direct connected to the ONT using an AirPort Extreme for almost 10 years. PERFECT. Bulletproof.
