I bought this from Costco, the last time it was on sale. Works very well, but it's a little small on the inside. The larger model with the square cooking area accomodates larger sized items. Last time they had it, it was $5 cheaper, if I remember right, $39.99. I would hold off and see if Costco has the larger one going on sale. For the price difference, it would be better for 2 or more people.

The 6-qt model is also on sale, $54.99. That's the one to get. If I could pawn off the 5-qt model I have, I would go for that. For a $10 difference, it's a no-brainer.

Which is the unit they sell in store that is regular $54.99? I know they increase the online prices to include shipping.

EDIT: Looks like the 5 qt is the model I am thinking of. That should make it only $39.99 if the rebate is also good in store (the mfr rebates typically are).

Can this be used to toast bread?

Per Costco Couple website, it looks like the store could have both. Mine only has the 5 qt and the Philips. They should each be $5 cheaper in store. Will try to confirm later.

I've not tried it, but it would probably turn it into a crouton due to the convection.

I ordered the Best Buy version last week when it was on sale. Anyone knows which one is better?

Costcos return policy is hard to beat. I'd buy the gourmia instead just because of that.

It works, crispy and nice. You just have to flip it once.

Is yours the one with the plastic crisping tray? If so, does yours still taste like plastic or did it go away? Even after nearly two months, and using it, or running it, at least 25 times it still makes some things taste weird.
