This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I've been feeling OK. My sinus infection is gone which is great but morning sickness is still kicking my a$$. The dr. recommended vitamin B6 to help with the sickness and it's been helping a little. Of course last night I forgot to take it and I was paying the price this morning. I have my 1st ultrasound on Thursday. Then we'll know if everything is good with baby and if there is only 1 little bugger in there. I really just want it to be Thursday already. I hate waiting.
You can also get the vitamin B shot from your OB. It was much more potent than any vitamin I could take. I felt great! I was coming in twice a week for my shot nod

Oh Thrifty, I noticed how environmentally aware you were so I wondered if you were cloth diapering? I have a friend who does and they are so darn cute. I personally dont cloth diaper. I love the environment and want my kiddos to have a nice green future, but cloth diapering just isnt for me. AND I am dieing to know how the newspapers work for cleaning the windows and such. Dont they tear? We do basic recycling..aluminum, plastic bottles, and newspapers Teehee We try to reuse as much as possible. For anyone who loves those reusable shopping sacks, my local Wags had local college teams (3 for $5). Go Gamecocks!

I wanted to cloth diaper but we live in the desert. . . . the water use for washing the diapers completely offset the benefits for not filling the landfills with baby poo. Oh well. Glad that all those free/cheap WAG diapers I got last summer are working out OK on the boy. Dontknow

My mom cloth diapered 6 Baby Bigeye

I cloth diapered with DD for a while. It was very difficult to do with out a service, plus I was living in an apartment at the time. I need to seriously rethink this. I wasn't planning on it with this one. We do so much to reduce, reuse and recycle. Yeah I am married to the Hispanic Ed Begley. Teehee He is looking into solar and wind energy and has been talking about geothermal heating for quite some time now. He wanted DD to do that as her science project last year. Roll We recycle everything. I want to get an under the cabinet compost bin that you line with biodegradable bags and toss into your green waste bins. We normally have less than 1 bag of trash a week for a family of 3. That is mostly because DH throws stuff out that can be recycled. Bonk I fish stuff out of the garbage all the time!

I guess I was mom's assistant to her diaper service. I remember hanging millions of diapers on the clothes line.

I can attest that newpapers work great for cleaning windows. Also, I have learned that hot soapy water with Dawn is the best for cleaning them as well. I have just recently switched to this method with and I use a squegee (spelling?) and its the best. No Streaks!!!

Ah..I feel better for not cloth diapering. I feel like we do our part so I don't feel so guilty. I mean its great if you do, but I just can't. I love the convenience too much and the price isn't half bad either Wink5

SB~ plus you have to dump the poop in the toilet and flush it, then wash them...so I see your point.

HERE [wikipedia.org] is a link to Wikipedia where it explains it (in words too big for me to understand) but there are also links to help protect you from the virus as well as help you if you get it. There is a ton of useful stuff there. Hope that helps someone heart

So do we Frown
Our landfill has a swap shop and you can find some cool things in there. I found a step 2 red wagon last week.

So you just spray the mirror or window and then wipe with the newspaper? It doesn't leave black marks from the ink? Cool.

We would be at 1 a week except our trash can is so small that we have to take it out 2x a week even though the bag isn't full.

We have great curbside recycling here. It's picked up at the same time as the trash and the cost is included in the monthly water/trash bill (like$2 a month).

What amazers me is how many of our neighbors DON'T recycle, even under these circumstances. I see houses who have 2 full to the brim cans out each week and no recycling. And keep in mind, you pay extra for the 2nd can of trash + already paying for the recycling. Confused

And yes, just spray the window and wipe away. No fuzzies left from paper towels anymore and no streaks or black marks.

We have 3 overflowing recycle bins. I need to call the city for more or ask my neighbors if I can use the ones that just sit on their back patio doing nothing! Ranting

As a kid I remember the "soakers"...those really bad dipes that needed to soak in the toilet a bit. Sick Ok, I have decided that I cannot do clothes as I do not want the baby's fecal matter in my washing machine. Mmmkthx! I think the clencher was the newborn breastmilk seedy mustardy dipes that did it for me. Yeah I want to wash that crap out...not so much!

I heart our curbside recycling. I think we are the only people on the block that recycle. Sadwalk My sister in Denver has a rubbermaid tote in her garage that she loads up with recycling and takes to my other sister's house because it is actually expensive in her neighborhood to have recycle picked up.

Nah these are the people that shop my garage sale swag. So they are getting it 1/2 of retail. Roll

Hello TCCers! Wave

Quote from Thrifty-n-SoCal :
Oh and we may have a zillion (hyperbole) paper towels but we use cloth napkins for dinner, cloth dish rags for wiping down the counter and recycle newspaper to wash mirrors and windows.
I like cloth dish towels too. My hubby has their weird paper towel thing going on. Whenever I wake up, he has little scrunched up paper towels all over the counter tops. Annoyed It's our ritual now. He scrunches, I get rid of 'em. The only time I am inclined to reach for a paper towel over a dish towel is for something like when Chudley hacks up a hairball. Yuk

I will rep her. I had never seen it before. Added it to my faves. Smilie

Had a terrific T run last night. Yahoo! Saved $140 and spent $15. Made only $5 though. We really needed some Sierra Mist. Hubby had almost drank it all out of the stockpile. Anyone think the new packaging is creepy? Reminds me of Blair Witch for some reason.

Note to self: Get some canned air to clean out keyboard so the "r" works correctly. Annoyed
