This Toro mower is at the local Home Depot store. Regular price is $449. Sale price is $269.
Model # 20355
Internet #303040801
Store SKU #1002765841

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Toro-.../303040801

They also have the Recycler 22 in. All-Wheel Drive Personal Pace Variable Speed Gas Self Propelled Mower with Briggs & Stratton Engine on sale. Regular price is $419. Sale price is $179
Model # 20353
Internet #205492399
Store SKU #1000974303

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Toro-.../205492399

As usual YMMV as the discount is not even showing on the Home Depot website. My local store had 3 of the $269 priced ones and 17 of the mower priced at $179.

This is the discounted price and no coupons or other requirements are necessary for purchase. These units are probably closeouts from the previous model year.

I'd pick one up if I could find one at these prices. The tune-up on my 8+ year old commercial Toro was $145 last year. Here in DFW, they are normal price but thanks for the heads up.

The inventory tracker said there were none available at this store, but they were there.

BS shows both available at that store with Clearance instead of price. All stores with stock in my area show the regular price. Great deal if you can find it.

Not sure why but the Home Depot location that services and refurbishes power equipment for all of the local HDs in the area always has a bunch of the "SmartStow" front-drive versions of these for sale as returns. Like 10X any other model that they have. Could be that they just sell more of them I suppose.

If they still build these like they did 12 years ago, I highly recommend Toro.

My Toro personal pace recycler lawnmower purchased in 2007 refuses to die. It still starts up on the first pull each spring after enduring a Northeastern winter.

The mower it self isn't too bad. But those briggs engines have a lot of issues. I'm a small engine mechanic, . Those plastic carbs have issues with sudden forward/backward motion of the mower, that can stall the engine out (ex: pushin mower in and out under trees or bushes, sudden jerking forward and back will cause an excess amount of fuel to push throught the main jet flooding the engine. Another issue is the gas tank vent comes out over the top of the air cleaner, so if your mowing on an incline, fuel gets into the vent and spills right on top of the paper air filter, soaking and saturating it, which is a potential fire hazard, not to mention headache when the engine won't run because of the soaked filter choking off the air flow. And to date Briggs hasn't come up with a solution to the problem, and they are well aware of the problem. If you have a pretty flat smooth lawn, the briggs motor will probably work fine for you. But as much as I hate to say it, go with the models with the Toro branded chinese engines, or the honda engine, you'll be much happier.

Same here. My Toro Recycler is at least 12 years old. Very reliable. Just keep the carb clean and properly service it like any small engine and should last a long time.
