NOTE:

Frequently Asked Questions
https://www.samsung.com/us/trade-...questions/

My device did not qualify for the trade-in, can Samsung send in my trade in device to be returned back to me?

Yes, since the trade in device did not meet the criteria needed, the full instant discount applied at checkout is no longer available.

If you would like, you can request to have the trade-in device sent back to the original shipping address on file, free of charge by visiting the My Orders Page.

Before factory resetting phone for trade in - make sure you delete your google account in settings because of Factory Reset Protection

"Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is a security method that was designed to make sure someone can't just wipe and factory reset your phone if you've lost it or it was stolen.
Starting with Android Lollipop, FRP is "standard" in vanilla Android, and most companies making our phones have implemented it in their own models.
It's a good thing — it makes a stolen phone harder to use, which makes it less appealing to thieves, and anything that can protect our data on a phone we've lost is welcome."

Ting guide for making sure FRP is deactivated.

Check the wiki for several ways to get the discount or PM me if you still have questions.

The 7.5% discount is applied to the phones price after the trade in value is subtracted. $75 is the discount with no trade in. $33.75 is the discount with a $550 trade in.

All the Samsung discounts are the exact same 7.5% off

On ebay, there are a million choices for edu email. Crap shoot. Of course, you can pay $5 ransom for edu email. Up to you.

I think it's a typo I'm almost positive they ship with or at the same time as the phone, not next summer!
If the dates are correct that means some of the Note 9 buyers may be able to use the 40K bonus points if they arrive by 3/7/19.
~$250 after tax with the note 8 trade ins ($550) the 40K points ($200) and EPP (~$15) isn't bad with the free earbuds and another $50 free accessory.
What "40k points" are you referring to?

Anyone that's been to college should have or be able to get a .edu email for life. Many colleges let you keep your .edu email even after you graduate. Even many that didn't, have started issuing new .edu emails to alumni if they ask.

So if you went to college, check with them before blowing $5. You can also rest at ease by using a fully legitimate email. Since using someone else's email can be illegal. I don't know about this ebay service. Is he selling other people's emails or is he some sys admin at a some school making an email for people that pay?

My discount has nothing to do with eBay or any edu email. You place the order using your existing Samsung account. That other user is mistaken.

Good for you. But we are talking about the edu discount you get with a .edu email.

I hope you aren't talking about me. While an eBay edu is an option it's got nothing to do with my $5 AGC trade. Mine is fast and easy using your existing Samsung account for the purchase.

You mentioned blowing $5 so the only thing $5 was the AGC trade. An edu email is $1-$2 on eBay.
