I use something similar to turn on the hot-water recirc pump for my house. It turns the pump on during times that I'm home, so hot water is instantly available. Turns the pump off at night and when I'm at work, to save money on heating water.

You can filter the Amazon reviews to show the Outdoor model only.

Lots of complaints regarding the battery backup not working, which is a big deal on a digital model where it looses its programming when the power goes out. Some say clock is not accurate also.

Maybe it burns a lot of power and gets very hot so they don't want it to burn your house down if you use it inside.

the 1 star reviews are pretty poor and fakespot is C. i need something like this to powercycle my LTE modem and router. however, if it fails to turn the power back on and my internet is down, the wife isn't going to be happy.
