6.17% APY Up to $1k with DCU

Primary Savings account, earn 6.17% APY up to $1,000. Requires membership which requires a $10 donation. After the first $1000 it is 0.25% APY. My plan is to set this up and have the earnings transferred to my AMEX Savings account earning the 2.10% APY.

They offer online banking with a service called "People Pay" which states it is free to transfer money.

$5 required to open the account and no monthly fees!

Worth it with a little work. Some reviews say it's a pain to open the account and get it set up.

Yeah I've read a few. It is a legit bank and they have to honor their stated APY. Definitely not for primary checking or banking but a great APY on $1000

I had an account with DCU since 1997, about 2 years ago, I moved all of my money to PenFed for a better rate and service.

And best of all, you will have to wait a whole year to earn that, LOL. You earn $5/month, that's barely enough for a cup of coffee.

bank is still in the middle ages (when it comes to online banking) - doesn't have any branches outside of east coast (in MA mostly)
