If there's any hassle here better to just get $150 unlocked no strings attached moto X4 on BH photo probably, no tax too. As for the phones they're probably a wash, X4 is slightly faster CPU and water resistance, G6 is more modern styling and slightly larger screen.

Also G6 is $180 no strings unlocked at Best Buy/BH Photo/probably motorola.com this week too, though you'll pay tax on the former.

The old G5S plus is also 169 on Motorola, my dad has had that phone for a long time and it's still pretty amazingly decent and large screen-ed for the price and age.

G7 is 299 unlocked everywhere, being brand new. But it has a much bigger screen, modern styling, a class better CPU, and 4/64 storage (vs 3/32 on most of these I listed). But yeah, it's also twice the price.

That's what people were saying 3 months ago when I bought it at the same price. If you need one this is a good price. There will always be a newer better phone coming out that will be more expensive than the old one.

In fact, the G7 is already available from Fi for $249 with activation. I'm sure you'll continuously get a better phone with more features if you keep adding $150 to get to the next phone.

Thanks! I just signed up with them and need a new phone. It also comes with $100 in credits so it's like I'm getting the phone for free!

Link goes to the Moto X4, not G6. Also the Terms of Service page have not been updated. Still says $199 as of 8:81 ET

I'm guessing this just like the Black Friday deal where you only need to activate service for a day?

Got this pre BF new. Within 3 months performance fell off and would lose LTE connection which demanded a restart. Fantastic battery and fast charging. Gave up and got a Pixel 3 on the Target deal for $350

As per the terms, you do only need service for at least one day to avoid being charged full price for phone. If you are interested in the service credit, then you must keep service active for 30 consecutive days.

Terms...
For the $200 Fi service credits, activation must be for full service (i.e., activation does not apply to a data-only SIM). The device must be activated within 30 days of device shipment and remain active for 30 consecutive days within 60 days of device shipment. Customer will receive an email notifying them of the service credit after all terms and conditions have been satisfied, and the credit will be applied to the customer's subsequent bills around 45 - 60 days after activation. For a single subscriber account, the service credit will be applied to the charges of the user who activates the device. For a group plan account, the service credit will be applied to the charges of the current owner of the device. If the account is paused, credits will only appear once the account is reactivated. Service credits will be applied toward monthly service costs only, such as data, calls, texts, and device protection; they cannot be applied to device purchase or financing.
Customers who return or cancel their order are not eligible to keep the service credit.

Thanks... if I'm understanding it correctly, then it wouldn't be worth buying for trade-in for the s10 then
