Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 was released back in 2015 and officially can only upgrade to Android 7.0 and likely Samsung won't have any upgrade beyond 7.0.

Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy Tab S5e will be available to pre-order starting in March 2019

Too bad the resolution is poo, the screen quality is poor, is much more thick, has 2 gigs of RAM as opposed to the S2's 3, and is still on nougat like the S2 despite being a newer model

Also the processor is worse, the tab A scores 1255 and the tab S2 scores 4272 on multi core

But hey, at least the Tab A has USB C!

FYI, the 9.7 inch model is the T813 variant that will not stream Netflix or Prime videos in HD. I have this model and there does not seem to be a fix for it. I can't speak for the 8 inch model.

Throwing out a comment to clarify some possible misconceptions on this thread. First, although this tablet (Galaxy Tab S2) was released in 2015, Samsung quietly released a refreshed version in 2016 (which is what this specific model is). It has a completely different CPU (I believe the earlier models had an Exynos, and the newer ones are Qualcomms). The newer model afforded a tremendous performance boost.

2015 models start with T710 or T810. 2016 models start with T713 or T813 in the model number.

I own 2 T713 models purchased refurbished. They are fantastic. Screen is bright and crisp, performance is great, I get prime video in HD (not sure who here said they did not), and have been very please. My ONLY complaint would be battery life. Does not last all day as another tablet I own. Other than that, very please.

Just don't call this a "tablet from 2015" when it's really from 2016. Also, your needs may be different. If you require the latest and greatest, then on, this won't satisfy you. But for many people, this is tremendous for a new one!

Thanks OP!

I have one of these and love it. Their new tablets have changed their form factor so not sure if I'd want one of those. Anyone think a tab s3 will reach $200 anytime soon?

This will still let you run Samsung Sidesync to mirror to your PC. I prefer sidesync mirroring to the new crap Samsung Flow.
I have an S4 and keep my S2 to mirror just for this.

Good deal. My S2 is still running rock solid. I'm not sure why you need Pie on this. Most tablet apps are fine as is.

I have one of these, and they are alright. There are moments where it would just freeze out of the blue, and the battery life isn't all that great. Definitely not worth what I paid for, but I would get it for $180.

I have this tablet and it's worked well. It's a 2015 model with Android 7.0 that will likely never receive updates. I wouldn't buy it because of it's age.

It's a shame how the OS is held hostage on these mobile devices. Maybe one day they will be open like PCs? One can dream.

I've wanted a new tablet for awhile, but one that has current tech specs, but not the added cost of keyboards or stylus. That leaves no options for a gaming/media tablet with that criteria.

I bought one of these refurbished a couple of years ago for this price (I think it was the 8"). Loved it briefly, then it started just shutting down so much and having difficulty restarting it that the final time it did this, I just did a factory reset to return it. And it was a good thing I wiped my info, as I then couldn't get it to turn on again. Is that a problem that pops up in very many of these models? I imagine that's why my device had been returned and sold as refurbished in the first place, and it was never fixed properly.

Added: Ok, read a couple other comments, think I'll pass on this older model.
