The Ryzen 5 2600 is so close to this in performance would it be better to get it and a better motherboard for around the same price?
6 core vs 8 core. The 1700X is the best deal. Just raise the cpu multiplier and you got a 1800x. Same exact silcon, just clocked lower.

Motherboard shows up as a free gift in the CPU description. First gen X models didn't come with coolers.

Interesting. I would say if you planned on using the cooler that would bring this overall value down.

Thank you for the comment. Seems to apply to US only (I'm abroad, And when I've changed location to Newegg US, I saw the motherboard addon)

Good question. I feel like less and less often, people here offer insight like this. It's complaints, irrelevant comments, or "X product is better wait for the discount" without any subsequent details.

Check out Tech Deals on YouTube - he makes numerous comparisons between products and prices. Just know he is economically incentivised to sway positively more often than negatively.

I would say it's good if you were looking to buy today, also depends on what you are doing with your computer. The CPU itself will be more than enough CPU for the majority of people. I am a fan of Asrock motherboards because I have yet to have one fail on me out of the half dozen builds I've made for personal and family use.

Like 200Mhz, but both chips are unlocked. You litterly can raise the Multi +2x and now you have a 1800x

I have a cheap Enermax 120 air cooler and it keeps this cpu cool. Overclocked at 3.9 with Ryzen master and this thing idles at 30 Celsius and 58 ish under load. I upgraded from an i7-4770k and it's been amazing.
