I have this TV in the 65 IPS and everyone that sees it is super impressed. Android TV is surprisingly awesome. Way less buggy than my fire TV. I haven't plugged that in for the few weeks I have had this TV. Everyone seems to have an opinion on why the 850 is terrible over the 900f. In best buy, next to each other, they looked identical to me.. Very comparable to the pop I saw on OLED. At home, still amazing.
Only thing that I think the 900f would make a difference to me is when I sit almost next to the TV, below and far left/right, room is completely dark, and picture is completely black, the edge lighting of blacks washes out the picture. I only have one seat in my living room that gets that and almost never have that scenario. Still so happy with the TV. And willing to live with the one issue for the price difference.

For all you home automaters, the TV has an API that can be called to control the TV. I have mine reporting power and volume statuses to control lights.

Now I just need a sound bar. I'm thinking the Sony CT800. Want the Sony Z9F, but I can't spend more than the TV on a sound bar.
Absolutely agree with this. The edge lighting is very obvious when next to a 900F. By itself, however, the 850F looks amazing and you can't notice the edge lighting bleed unless you look for it.

Might be the case.

VA's provide much better contras/deeper blacks/more pop as long as you sit somewhere within 1-20 degrees off center. Best if dead smack in the center.

VAs tend to have 4000+:1 contrast while IPS ~1000+:1 contrast.

Now if you have a very wide seating or watch somewhere like 30 degrees off angle and more, IPS can look much better. OLEDs have better viewing angles but more expensive for the same size.

There are more VA panels from all of the 2018 tvs across all brands and most of the higher rated ones are VA panels other than OLEDs.

I personally prefer IPS because I am sensitive to the poor viewing angles of VA panels and I have tested a VA Panel X900F at home. We are a dying breed.

The 2019 Samsung Q7, 8 and 9 seem to have fixed the viewing angle problems of VA panels though. At least that's what some are reporting.
IPS with local dimming is the gold standard for LED/LCD TVs in my opinion. You get the viewing angle and colors of IPS with the better contrast of VA

For those who already had the 82" delivered by Beach Camera/Buydig - do the delivery folks really wait for you to unbox the TV to check for damage?

Do they deliver inside the house ?.

Did u inspect the TV for any damages before Signoff to the Delivery Guys ...?

At what viewing angle does the picture start getting faded, if its more than 150 degrees, then I am fine, it's not that whether this or 900F I would be watching it from an extreme angle why anyone does that just because they have a TV that can be viewed from various angles.
150 degrees? EEK! You failed geometry in school, didn't you? LMAO
