Tough call. I'd lean towards the 900F for higher brightness and local dimming though. FYI the 85" 850F is the only one in the lineup with VA panel so reviews of the smaller sizes are not really applicable.

Might be the case.

VA's provide much better contras/deeper blacks/more pop as long as you sit somewhere within 1-20 degrees off center. Best if dead smack in the center.

VAs tend to have 4000+:1 contrast while IPS ~1000+:1 contrast.

Now if you have a very wide seating or watch somewhere like 30 degrees off angle and more, IPS can look much better. OLEDs have better viewing angles but more expensive for the same size.

There are more VA panels from all of the 2018 tvs across all brands and most of the higher rated ones are VA panels other than OLEDs.

I personally prefer IPS because I am sensitive to the poor viewing angles of VA panels and I have tested a VA Panel X900F at home. We are a dying breed.

The 2019 Samsung Q7, 8 and 9 seem to have fixed the viewing angle problems of VA panels though. At least that's what some are reporting.

Took me a few attempts as the discount was showing in my cart, but i kept getting 1298.00 at checkout. Then i went to screenshot my way through it for support, and bam, it worked.. So now its on the way. Going to buy a Squaretrade warranty for this, and pray i get a good Panel..

If you're going for a 65 inch I'd wait for the Vizio P to go on sale, if you're spending that much anyway for under $1000 it's a major upgrade

I have xbr75x850e from 2017 Thanksgiving Amazon deal. Picture is great but TV hardware is bad. It shuts off randomly and sometimes doesn't power on first thing in the morning. OS used to be worst but now is decent after update. playing videos from USB doesn't work well. My LG from 2011 still plays videos from USB without issue.

Is it worth 75" for $1500?
Also, afraid of too many complaints about getting cracked or damage sets online.

buy from a brick and mortar store. do you really want your funds tied up on a refund/exchange if you get a cracked screen
