Actually it never was, they disabled the loot boxes before it was even officially released, but the MTX was briefly available during the early access time. Also the best cards never were locked to pay only, though some things would have taken a ton time. Example, at the start, to unlock Vader and Luke, someone estimated it would have taken 40 hours easily for one, not both. Course in that short period though the damage was done that even removing MTX asap after was too little too late. The game now though isn't terrible at all and last check was still being developed on, though i bet at a much slower pace without the original MTX plans.

Edit: To provide evidence what I said is not "revisionist" history, top search result for me is a news article from Forbes. reputable website that I'm pretty sure no one is calling fake news on either side. https://www.forbes.com/sites/inse...dc76f11d64

Got nba live 19 last go around. I honestly regret it.

Six or so of those would cost you a total of 4.99 a month on EA Access.
Mass effect
Madden 19
Star Wars BF2
NBA live 19
Sims
Unravel and maybe one more I'm missing.
Looking to casually play a few games in the down season ea access not a terrible move.

Sometimes a whole year is like 25 bucks.

Anybody play The Surge? Any good? I remember seeing things about it when it first came out and it looked somewhat interesting.

It's a good dark souls clone. The environments can get repetitive and there are a limited amount of bosses, but the gameplay is very good.

Wow. BFII is already 6 bucks, what a steal. Feel bad for that game, it's really fun and all the negatives were lies by angry anti EA losers.
No, it was very pay to win at the beginning with the good cards only being in cash loot boxes or grinding an absurd amount., saying otherwise is revisionist history.

It was the same price on PSN for awhile for one of their sales. Today it went back up to $24.99.
