Fwiw mentioning,
most of those eBay sellers under $200 are actually selling the international models (XT1803 single SIM or XT1805 dual SIM) that don't work on all networks in the U.S.. May not be eligible for warranty on the international models here either, if I'm not mistaken.

The U.S. model is XT1806, and those brand new, sealed (like in this deal) are typically more than $150 apiece (usually). Moto had them marked down to $169.99 each last week, but that sale's over now (and this BOGO deal took it's place).

Oh you should totally be able to fix that. Usually when IMEI=0 that's when you can use a tool like QFIL, backup the nvram, hex edit the IMEI in the backup, and flash the NVRAM and it will take the IMEI.
Are you rooted?

(here they use QPST, but at least on the Moto Z2, you need to use QFIL instead, it's included in the same QPST install anyway)

backup what you have (using QFIL) then edit the IMEI area, if you can find it, then flash it back?
I promise you you're not screwed.

Different Moto phone, but see if this helps you:

These are selling brand new for $150 on eBay, so not a huge discount here.

My Moto G5+ was pretty good, served me well... and worked on all the networks. It got water damaged within the last few weeks. I don't think I'll be able to fix it. Also, before the water damage, it seemed to get kind of laggy.

Not sure I would buy the next iteration, let alone two, right now. Wanted to get a Pixel 3, but then read about how the camera lags a lot, and sometimes doesn't save pictures... so probably won't jump on that Target deal

Kind of at a loss of what to get for now, so I guess I'll keep using an old $7 android phone lol

And the good news is that they have the Google Pixel camera mod for this phone.
Otherwise, I've heard the camera REALLY sucks.
It's dual camera, but crappy. Not sure why.

It's the "potter" one

I had this phone and actually liked it. I screwed it up though by making the imei=0 so bricked pretty much. I still have it and it works but cellular does not. Compared to the G6 Play I actually liked the G5s+ better and the G6 Play seems to lag now and its not even 3 months old yet.

Camera definitely does not suck.. I still have my G5s+ and it takes REALLY nice pictures in good light, not so great pictures in low light, but that's par for the course with cheaper smartphones.

Have you tried the gcam port, does it work on this phone? I heard it does just want someone to confirm.

You want the gcam port because it has a "night mode" that can make your terrible low light shots look like they were taken with good lighting.
