At that pricepoint I feel there are better laptops out there... also Acer is just awful... but that's just me. Never had a good experience with them and most of their build quality is below average. Plus that battery is pretty nasty... 4-Cell Lio-Ion 3220mAh Battery

Lenovo new Y series are getting refreshed the Lenovo Y540 sports an RTX 2060 and is priced at $939. Releases in May. May be worth looking into it.

Overpowered still offers more with a modding community behind it as well but that really depends on how far you are willing to get into technical stuff. Battery is upgradeable at least.

I have this laptop, picked it up a few months back for the same price. Overall very good deal, just have a nice eye glass cleaner cloth handy with some water or such as the shelf and internal covers catch tons of grime, even when I keep my hands super clean

Not familiar with Acer so this may be a deal but you've got a lot of good options for laptops at this price point.

I think this has been mentioned in other threads, but it is very likely that the y540 model will make other compromises in order to hit $930 - probably by having 8gb of ram, no ssd, and an i5.

i have had bad luck with acer going on 20 years now. Everytime i say 'eh cant be that bad', it ends up being worse than expected. ever actually open one up and try to work on it? its hysterical. they are so shitty built it makes you laugh.

plus for a 17" laptop with all those specs, youll be staring at a low DPI screen. theres no way i would buy this without a 4k screen.

Hm... interesting. For $930 with an RTX 2060 GPU in and of itself seems like a really good deal though, even with no SSD and only 8GB ram since SSDs are pretty cheap these days and 8GB of ram is probably fine for many games.

I'm very doubtful about an RTX2060 GPU laptop being sub 1000$ .. I wish there's a proof.
