Good price but can give you a headache. Taken from another review that I found accurate:

* Emptying the canister is a very messy job. No way to avoid the cloud of dust and allergens that are not only released into the air but also cover the outside of the machine as well (best done outside). The whole device needs to be wiped down with a damp cloth after. NOT good for someone with allergies or asthma.
* The machine has many hidden crevices where dust gathers. You MUST clean these regularly or the device will stop working. Not only must you empty the canister and soak the filter, you also have to take disassemble the brush bar to remove hairs and to clean out a hidden dust chamber. The company does not provide a key / tool for opening the plastic casing. You have to find something that won't wreck the plastic (I use a $1 coin).
* There are not enough spaces on the docking station for all of the provided accessory tools (poor design).
* You must hold the button down continuously for the vacuum to work. This is uncomfortable and prohibitive for users with arthritis
* Very short battery time. Only lasts 2 minutes in MAX mode or 15 minutes in regular mode. In order to maintain this already limited battery life, the manufacturer recommends that you do not recharge until it is completely dead. This is tricky, as it means I may be halfway through a cleanup job when the vacuum dies and I must wait 40 minutes to recharge.

Most of this is not true:

I can run this for 30 mins and do a quick vacuum on a 3100 sqft house.. You have to remember its not corded and has a light weight factor so battery size is minimalist

The bins door is at the bottom.. Put a shopping bag around before opening, hold tight so it traps all the airborne dust

Most roller blade will eventually trap hair, i typically remove the roller brush and vac the bathroom floor to minimize coiled hair rollers

For what its intended for.. A lightweight portable vacuum.. It far beats it.. Hands down the best vac i have owned.. I have a 12amp corded vac that is catching dust.. Pun intended.. Because its too big and heavy for my needs

I do also have neato d3s running now for the daily touchup

No HEPA on this one. For V6 series only V6 HEPA and Absolute has HEPA Filter

For V7 Absolute has no HEPA, only HEPA version and Animal.

I know it's confusing. Dyson is really horrible at this.

Also couple things:
- I have a V8 Absolute. I know it's slightly different from V6, but the end result is the same that the bottom lid opens up allowing dust to fall down by gravity. I disagree that emptying the bin will make an unreasonable amount of mess. It's pretty easy and not that messy as long as you lower it at or below the mouth level of your trash can/whatever container you want to empty into. It's no more or less messy than how you empty any dust collecting bin for any vacuums; these are light weight dust so some are bound to fly, especially if you empty it significantly away from the trash can. The only way it's not messy is if you throw the entire bin into the trash can en bloc.

- Battery is and will be a problem. This is generally no difference from how your laptop or your phone can't hold a charge as well as it used to be 2 years ago. This is a problem with our battery technology, and less about the vacuum. Since these handheld vacuum are designed to have about 5 - 20 minutes run time, it's very noticeable once the battery goes bust. There is no easy solution, but the Dyson vacuum battery is easily replaceable. It's unclear if these refurb will have reliable battery at all, so take that into consideration when you buy this.

- V6 and V7 has similar battery size (V7 is actually very slightly smaller), but V7 is slightly more efficient. Same max Air Watts of 100 (V8 has 115). There are reports that V7 has slightly worse suction than V6 at hardfloor, which can be due to a design choice to keep the run time longer (theoretical 30 minutes on low power for V7, vs V6). Max power both vacuum has similar 6-7 minutes run time. But overall it's similar in suction. So it's up to you if extra 30 bucks is worth it for 10 more minutes run time. Pretty sure Dyson is aware of this and thus V7 is so much cheaper and closer to the price point of V6, than V8 is to V7.

- Not sure if I will ever get a refurb one. New one seems to go on sales for similar price for V6 and I would much rather pay extra 20-30 bucks for a new one, since it would at least ensure battery will be new, and the warranty is long enough that if the battery goes to shit I can get a replacement. But it is very cheap, compared to 280+tax for my V8 Absolute. Also refurb Dyson don't have the best reputation in terms of how it looks on the outside... and if the outside already looks shit it's not very convincing that these vacuums don't have some hidden internal damage waiting to shut the vacuum down entirely.

- In the end I think Dyson makes fairly good vacuum. I am happy with my V8. Power wise it is amazing, especially considering the portability this vacuum offers. A lot of "vacuum experts" hate Dyson with a passion because they seem to sell very overpriced under-performing stuff. I don't disagree that Dyson are very expensive especially at MSRP. But I sort of disagree that these products are worthless just because it feels weak compared to other corded bulky vacuum which tends to offer more power for a lower price point. Thing is, you will be surprised how difficult it is to find any cordless vacuum with nearly as much power and portability all in the same package. It's not so much that people like Dyson because they make flawless vacuums, but more that because portable vacuum market doesn't have very good competitor against Dyson. I got my V8 during the Thanksgiving sales which I find that price point to be significantly more reasonable than the MSRP, and I don't think I would ever buy these full price. But still, performance wise you can't complain much as long as you have realistic expectation for this product and understand you are not just buying a vacuum for the suction power, but also for the convenience of use and portability.

eBay hasn't had a coupon this year as far as I'm aware, they normally issue one in March (and every other end of quarter month)... This is a very good deal, but I'm going to hold off in case they do release a coupon.

I have this thing. It works well but is a hassle to clean and the previous poster is correct about dust going everywhere when you dump the bin. It is also really noisy for as small as it is. Almost sound wise on par with a normal full size vacuum.

Agree noise is somewhat loud (but don't mind it). Battery life is indeed poor and makes you really focus when you're cleaning. Never had an issue with the dust when dumping (but have always put it as low as possible when dumping).

Have 4 kids under 13 so have invested in several cordless/stick sweepers and this one is still my go-to.

Just ordered another one for the basement as I found myself still going upstairs to get this one when needed.

Yes indeed. Works well for me in on hardwood floors and sometimes ever better when not in MAX mode.

I have the V8, not this exact model. However, the cleaning head looks the same.

I have no carpet, but only wood and various laminate/composite floors with rugs. My cleaning head and V8 does great on all surfaces in my home.

Is it worth it to buy V7 over V6 for an extra 35$? Is there significant difference between the 2 to warrant an upgrade?

I have this bought 2 years ago refurbished. Works fine and yes is a little load but not too bad. Also never had a issue until last week as it would turn on / off every couple of seconds but using Google found out it was just the filter on top needed to be washed.
