Awesome board, rebates suck though, at least it's not a Slickdeals rebate.

i am running a 2700x with a x370 k7 gigabyte motherboard.. having no problems really with the board, decent speeds and RAM running fine.. question would upgrading to a x470 allow me to acheieve faster speeds on the CPU? due to the PBO enabled? because x370 does not have PBO

Not really... As long as you have mem compatability I doubt PBO will allow you to OC any further, but I could be wrong...

Dang I just ordered a Crosshair Hero VII. At this price the Taichi would have been a no brainer.

Got this board at the beginning of the year. Rebate will probably take forever if it even comes but I'm happy with the board. Can't get my 2x16 gig corsair low profile ram to run at 3200 but it's not on the QVL so I guess technically I can't complain. Relaxed timings at 3000 seem stable and one day I'll spend the hours of testing needed to tighten them up. Seems like even 3000 with dual rank ram is an oddity. Haven't really messed with OC the 2700 (non x) but 4050 seemed stable.

That's weird. You running the XMP profile for your memory? I'm running 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance at 3200MHz no problem.

The Taichi boards are some of the best AM4 motherboards out there, IMO. I've been using the X470 Taichi for about 3 months now and it's been great.

I assume the vrms are passively cooled? I'm fighting vrm temps in an open air case and haven't been able to find actively cooled vrms on an am4 board

Ugh.. I've been watching x370 taichi. The x470 doesn't really add anything important. And the color doesn't match my build. I needed the white/black and dark greys of x370 taichi...

Why did they change it to this ugly color?

edit: if you are looking at the x370 new and this x470 the price is about $10 more for the x470. so may as well go with this x470

Just depends on kit, tested various rams and some kits have some really interesting issues with AM4 so far.

Yes, x470 boards tend to be better for memory speeds

How's this compare to ASUS ROG STRIX X370-F GAMING?

This is on the Top-Tier level of some chart I saw on reddit for mobos with good vrms for overclocking. I bought it at this price about a month or two ago, working very well so far with a 2700x, GSkill ram and a rtx2060. The LED control software is awful as to be expected. Who cares. BIOS can be convoluted but I hear its kind of pointless to overclock a 2700x with a stock cooler and I have no real need to so I don't have to mess with anything. Did have to manually change ram profile to achieve correct speed. A big pro that it has two M2 slots, was one of the main selling points of this board for me, at this price point.
