Got a I5-8265u CPU and need ddr4 memory. I have two dimm slots, one with the already included 8 gb stick. Would removing the existing stick and replacing it with these two work?

I have this ram from a sale in August at $105, no complaints other than tall headers. But I have a AIO cooler so doesn't bother me. Great price and easily max speed on an 8700k Intel processor, just needed to update my bios to get it to 3000 mhz

Looks like a good price. How is the speed on this? How compatible would it be with a Ryzen 2600 and GA-AB350 mobo? I've heard some work well while others do not

Wow, prices seem to be finally returning to pre-2017 levels.

I purchased this set about a month ago when they were on sale for $90. So far, no real problems, but I should note that on the system I put together (Ryzen 5 2600, MSI B450 Tomahawk), the motherboard does not recognize an XMP profile at the rated speed of 3000MHz. Rather, the highest speed profile it recognizes is 2933MHz at the timings specified in the product listing, although I think this profile is also very slightly over-volted as well (1.36v compared to 1.35v). So, pretty close and not a huge deal. I have not tried to manually overclock, but am willing to bet it would run at 3000MHz without issue if you put the time and effort in.

I should also note that the motherboard QVL for this set appears limited to models for Intel CPUs/chipsets - it does not include any Ryzen motherboards at all, as far as I can tell. Something to keep in mind. Here is the QVL: https://www.gskill.com/en/product...16d-16gvrb

Image don't do it justice. I thought it was a crap color at first until I got me a pair of hand me downs.Instead of that fire engine red it's more of a subtle maroon reddish color. It blends in my case nicely. I usually have the case dark but if on rare occasion I turn on the case light it throws off a hue of whatever the case light rgb is set at.
