i had this then returned it. sound was alright, not the best, but the keys action was crappy. i rather spend the extra money and get the roland fp30 on sale. or even the new roland fp10 has the same action as the fp30. roland fp0 action is so realistic even better then the kawai es models and i even owned that as well.

I don't think stand is included as mentioned in the product description here. Adorama website says otherwise.

Anyone tried the Yamaha P-255? It's like playing with butter (what I'm trying to say is the sound is amazing and the hammer action is really good). The instrument just sings and the whole process is very interactive. I'm not sure how it compares to this Korg though

My 4 year old son is about to begin taking music lesson. The music school requires that we buy an 88 key piano (digital or acoustics) with damper pedals for home practice. I know nothing about piano. Is this a good model? If it is then what do I do about the pedals? I have been looking at the Casio PX-770 package on Amazon.

The Korg B1 meets your requirements, but it lacks a built-in record/playback feature (a very useful feature). It also doesn't have MIDI out, which prevents you from using many computer-based instruction.

I don't recommend the Casio PX-770 for you because it comes with a furniture stand. It'll mean your son will NOT be able to reach its pedals when seated at the correct height without pedal extenders. You can remove it from the stand, but then it means you are paying for the stand and 3-pedal unit that you aren't going to use.

So, both of your suggestions have some issues for your son. But if I had to pick one, I'd pick the Korg simply because it is cheaper and you can't use the stand/pedal unit of the Casio.
