OHHHHH MY GAWWWWWD.

I LOVE YOU ICONIAN.

There goes another lil' bit of my unborn kid's college fund lol. This bass was ALSO on my radar. Thank you x 1,000 (ALWAYS) for finding the best slickdeals on the net.

For anyone on the fence, these play amazing; they are the 'new' version of Fender's AVRI or American Vintage Reissue series, and the pickups, neck, and details of build/craftsmanship are bar-none fantastic and true-to-form for vintage spec lovers...

You will also never see one at this price again, so if you're in the market for a KILLER jazz bass, this is your chance Smilie

That makes 4 basses so far via Iconian. This is pain. and pleasure.

Are there other models that work with this coupon? Saw the coupon was the same code as the strat deal and randomly tried a few others at different price points but didn't have any luck.

Great price. I prefer maple fret boards. But this is a sweet deal.

I have nothing to add, but I'm really excited that you love basses this much. I just have a single jazz bass and can't justify buying this, but I'm glad you did lol.

Any comparison to the Elites that were on here a couple of weeks ago?

I've owned 2 Fender Elite Jazz basses. Those have a distinctive modern type of tone with their active electronics. These Jazz basses are passive and don't have the more modern hardware, so they are period correct.

You can't go wrong with either.

Don't the modern designs have graphite rods in the neck to make them more stable? That would be the only feature difference between the models that's not undoable, or renders you unable to "convert" one into the other by changing the electronics.

Damn, this is a great price on this model. Too bad I''m not really into the "older" features.

The modern USA made bass models have had graphite rods since 1995. (I'm not for sure of the Highway series though). Do they make them more stable, etc.? That can be a hot button topic for bassists.

You are correct the electronics can pretty much be changed into whatever you may be needing.

One "feature" I do not care for with the older models is the heel adjustment that require you to loosen the neck from the body "to properly adjust". Yeah, you might get lucky and not have to or gouge out the area on the body but I'd rather not bother. I have had three Fender basses that were based on a 50's P, 60's J and 70's P and after the last one I've had enough of that.
