This is similar to the Lorex Active Deterrence cameras sold in the kit at Costco, however in 1080P ( not 8MP ) and wifi - designed to work w/o a NVR.

Worth checking out if you need a WiFi camera - there is a review at ipcamtalk

Hi TechiMan,

I do not recall seeing any here, nor much additional comments at ipcamtalk.

I know if this was a IP PoE camera I would jump on it for another camera by the front of the house. ( it still did tempt me.. however, I'm a bit down on wifi cameras due to recent experiences associated with my building's walls being good at blocking signals - wire mesh / alum insulating foil are problematic )

Most of these types of cams don't work on 5Gz

Hi Wicket

Did it get an IP address from your WiFi router?

If so, try the Dahua Config tool and see if that is useful here.

Yes, I bought 2 and had no problems connecting them to my router. I actually had these connected to my QC888 NVR but I would lose the siren and light functionality so I ended up using the Q-See Plus app.

If you lose siren and light function what the hell is the use connecting to an NVR!

I agree, however the Q-See beacon cam is fairly new and it's meant to be used as a stand alone camera. I hope the company will provide a new firmware to have these supported.

The light would flash green, then flash red, then solid green, but the app would say times out. I was 3 feet from my router. Even tries wps. No luck
