iPhone XS Max OLED display blue shift

Recently upgraded from 8 plus to XS max and was very excited to get my hands on Very first oled. But my unit has a horrible Blue shift when the display is viewed at even 10 degree off axis. Anyone experience the same color shift problem with XS max ? Took the unit to apple store and they weren't ready to swap the entire unit but suggesting to send the device to apple repair center. Anyone had luck exchanging their device attributing to this issue ? Is so please share your experience. I am aware of the oled color shift which happens to some extent across the all the devices like note 9 etc, but XS max tends to show it more even with a little off angle. Appreciate your insights

When you went to the apple store, did the phones they have on display do the same thing?

Surprisingly, yes ! I am really shocked by how much these devices (Xs,Xs max ) shifts and shows off blue and pink colors even at a slight off angle. I was very curious about it and asked one of the store representative about this. He immediately took his iPhone XS and it didn't have the same anomaly... it was a day and night difference and he acknowledged it as well. When google got crucified for the exact same issue with their pixel lineup with LG panels, apple is happily selling these inferior panels and getting away with it on one of their expensive products. It's very sad to see these dual standards from consumers when it comes to apple.

I just left my device with apple store for display panel replacement and it should be ready in a week for pickup. I am not very hopeful they will resolve the situation as it seems all the xs max panels are now supplied by LG and very few by Samsung. It's really a very very huge gamble for one to end up with Samsung panel.

LG uses OLED screens for its own V30 smartphone — which was called "an ugly disappointment" by my colleague Vlad Savov — and it currently supplies OLED screens for the Google Pixel 2 XL, which has also faced a host of display issues.

It's quite unfortunate that apple too is sourcing panels from LG despite knowing how bad LG panels are from pixel experience. It's pure greed from apple part and a shameful act from a trillion dollar valuation company.
