I cannot comment on the Sony oled, but I have both the lg c8 65" and the Sony xbr55x900f with the X1 extreme chip that runs android. It's OS pretty slow but I do have connected the LG SK9Y with LG SPK8S to the Sony and I have an Nvidia Shield connected to the sound bar. I must say I am quite impressed with the sound that is delivered. Even ARC audio is very good from the Sony. The Sony remote can control the LG sound bar volume which is nice. I have plex and MrMC installed on the Sony but it appears that the Sony cannot handle running 4k content media from a nas as my shield can.
I really like the magic remote of the c8 and I think the tv just shines on all respects. My only observation is the Sony seems to handle motion artifacts a bit better than the LG.
For me personally having played with the OS of the c8 and the Sony x1 extreme and the oled of the c8 and the a8f being pretty much on parr (according to rtings reviews) the Sony would have to be the same price or less than the c8.

I can't believe the Sony 65" OLED is within $50 of $2k.

Can anyone comment on this TV vs the LG C8? I've heard the picture is a bit better but the input lag is worse for gaming.

I have the LG SK10Y soundbar + LG SPK8S rears and was wondering if anyone has used those with these and if it would be better for me to wait for a LG C8 deal?

I would get this instead of the c8 if you're not a gamer.

Is it worth the extra $250 over the C8? I don't know... I know it has a *slightly* better picture but no Dolby Atmos and the Android OS on this model is very laggy. Not sure it's worth the premium, honestly.

That was a good price for the 65A8f. I'm in no hurry and am gonna wait to see how the new LG C9 with it's more powerful processor, better motion processing and upscaling compares to the Sony A9f then buy either one of those two at the end of this year.

But Sony has the better chip for upscaling non 4K content. Which the vast majority of people still watch. I have the c8 myself. But I will totally jump on this if I didn't already have the c8

The 65" A9F is $4,500. It is being discontinued after a short run for the A8G and A9G but those are more like refreshed models rather than brand new models with significant upgrades like LG is doing with the B9, C9, E9. Sony increases the second letter by generation (F, G...), not the number like LG, that's how you know. The A8 series are the "lower" end and the A9 series are the "Master" series which is their top of the line OLED.
