Great price for a full frame. Should have announced this camera when the A7III was released. I wouldn't have switched to Sony otherwise.

I tried an Alpha a6000, but I already have an EOS 70D, and a bunch of EF lenses, with only two being EFS, so I figured for $1200,, it's worth just staying on the Canon bandwagon

The a73 is still an impressive camera for the price even if this one is cheaper. Personally I'd prefer the Sony if I was going FF even if it is a few hundred more but you get a lot more camera.

I like my Sony also, but I was already invested in Canon. I don't shoot video, so this camera should be good enough for me.

The Sony is a much better camera especially if you are adapting Canon lenses.

The RP is a nice a size. I may be tempted later this year when it drops below 1k.

The A7iii will be around 1300 gray market by then as well. Good times ahead if you are looking to upgrade.

Try taking a photo in conditions with very light and very dark areas with this and then your Sony and report back to us how disappointed you are in the Canon. Sony sensor > Canon sensor. Having shot with the 6D Mkii (which is where the sensor from this is sourced) the Sony A7iii (which I currently shoot with) is superior to the Canon in every regard save for the "Canon" logo which the uninformed assume is better.

A7iii will drop as soon as the RP drops

Not sure what video has anything to do with my comment but ok. Even if you take video out of the equation, the A73 is still a superior camera in every aspect. Better sensor, better af, higher framerates, has IBIS, dual card slots, etc.

What's the lowest price if you apply this technique to A7 iii on this website?

That's a dumb statement. There aren't even A7IV rumors yet.

Canon is releasing another slew of mirrorless later this year per some articles on the net. I was looking into switching over to Sony a year ago from Canon due to Sony's incredible image processor, but I didn't want to deal with selling everything and starting by scratch. Thank goodness Canon got into mirrorless, but at this price it's a little too hot for me to get involved, especially with "new" tech.
