I know this is probably going to get me a lot of thumbs down because quite a few people on here don't feel Tesla or these options are worth it, but I wanted to let everyone know that Elon Musk has announced that the temporary discounts on autopilot and full self driving are going back to their original prices on Monday.

For those that haven't purchased EAP and FSD already, the current price is $5k and will likely go back up to $7-8k. If you already purchased EAP, then FSD was $4k after purchase and is currently $2k.

None of the FSD features not included in EAP actually exist yet, so it's kind of a gamble at this point. Is it worth paying $2k now in the hopes that you'll get FSD features in the future and not pay $4k? I'm still trying to decide for myself. One thing to keep in mind is if you purchase FSD now, you'll get the Autopilot 3.0 hardware (new faster processor) for free when it comes out and all the features of FSD.

EDIT: To clarify, new purchases do not qualify for these discounted prices. You have to currently own a Tesla and not have purchased both EAP and FSD to qualify.

UPDATE: New car discounts (~3%) and AP/FSD discounts are still active until Wednesday at midnight.

Given that they are in a strong pinch right now to make a profit to keep their company aflot, I would bet my money that they are going to offer discount again in no time.

For EAP and FSD it shows as 8K ( 3k + 5k). I don't see 5K price o-iron for both.

That's a stall avoidance system on a plane with two 10' engines carrying 200 passengers, to prevent a separate kind of disaster.

This is a car driving on a road, and it doesn't fly at 35k feet at 450mph.
And yet the car driving on the road is a far, far more complex environment than the aircraft is in. Controlled airspace makes things like a traditional autopilot fairly simple, comparatively.

Sorry to ask this question. I've Auto pilot now but want to add FSD. How do I add it for $2K. Is it online or by phone or do I need to do it from Tesla. Thanks.

Are you looking in your owner's account and managing your car?

Or are you running through purchasing a new car?

The big deals here are if you never bought EAP or FSD, you can get both for $5k as an upgrade in your account, OR if you bought EAP you can upgrade to FSD for $2k.

Tesla is in trouble IMO. The Model 3 isn't carrying the company like it needed to. They revved up production and the numbers looked promising briefly as the surge of early adopters finally completed their purchases but now what? The ongoing demand might not be as robust as hoped. The company has a huge amount of debt which isn't cheap and Musk is doing anything to get money coming in because God knows it's going out at astonishing rates. And don't forget the boat anchor Tesla is dragging around called SolarCity whose debt Tesla assumed when they bought them.

If I understand correctly, some of Tesla's debt gets issued in stock if the share price is high enough, and otherwise must be paid in cash, so Musk is working double time trying to hype anything and everything to try getting the stock price up.

I'm pulling for them though! Just my $0.02 from a former $TSLA shareholder. Cheers

They should pay people to beta test auto pilot for them. Just saw a video of someone on auto pilot plowing into a deer on facebook
Agreed. However everyone that owns a Tesla enjoys their vehicle and supports the technology.

Yeah okay, then that pricing won't change for you. This deal only works if you're already bought the car.

So the very best deal you could get is if you had purchased a car, but hadn't purchased EAP. Then you could get everything for $5k.

Which a number of people got upset about, those complaints (better or worse) were listened to and Tesla announced they would be reverting the pricing back to what it was on Monday.

I am nearly positive that come Monday, if you're buying new, you'd pay $8k for both.
