I run Waze along with an Uniden R3. While Waze is a HUGE advantage, you could be the first victim of a LEO in a new spot and Waze can't do anything about that. Radar detectors are still necessary if you exceed the posted.

I always explain radar detectors like caller ID for those that ask and are in the "don't speed, no problem" team.

You have caller ID - you avoiding someone? No? Same with radar - I just like to know if a cop is in the area regardless if I'm doing something or not.

Great radar for the bike. Connect via BT to the phone and feed music, gps and radar to the helmet. Works like a champ. I have the 360 but the same concept.

Exactly how I run my Escort, the combo has saved me from a ticket two times. Works fantastic! Waze let's me relax, I put the metal to the pedal, I slow down when I get Waze notifications and hit the brakes when the detector screams. My buddies laughed at first calling it 'x gen tech', they nearly crapped their pants when they saw it in action coming down into Glendale from Eagle Rock on the 134 where a CHP bike seems to kick it towards the end of each month. Waze has no clue, the Escort saved the day.

Same. I ran a x50 for over 10 years and finally upgraded. On well traveled roads or hwys Waze usually wins, but back roads or with less traffic, or police using radar while driving the detector is worth the cost after 1 missed ticket.

I had a 9500ix for years. Bought a Uniden R1 and tested/compared them side by side.

Sold the 9500ix on eBay!!!

All you need is the WAZE app and a Uniden R1 or R3

Waze is useless if there are no other users around.

Best used in tandem with a radar detector. I recommend the Uniden R3
