Thank you! I have a cumbersome kill o watt thing but I've been looking for something like this on sale for awhile. TP-Link works well and is I never have to reset but I hate losing 2 outlets.

Concern here is the 2.4GHz requirement. My Orbi mesh network has issues with connecting devices on the 2.4 GHz network as you can't turn off 5 GHz.

At this price for 3 smart outlets with monitoring, worth the effort.
You can turn off the 5ghz broadcasting during setup of these 2.4ghz only devices. Once setup is complete, turn the 5ghz broadcasting back on. This is what I needed to do for my rachio irrigation controller.

I've been using 3 of these for a month (using timer function and phone app, but haven't tried using Alexa or other voice control), and they've worked flawlessly so far. I've been moving one around from device to device to measure energy consumption of different appliances and devices. A lot easier than using the Kill-A-Watt for this purpose.
I did not see any mention of energy consumption measuring capabilities.. are you sure it can measure the energy usage?

Yes. I've attached 3 screenshots of the Smart Life app showing a smartplug I use for a space heater. The first image is with the heater "ON", but not drawing power due to thermostat at set temperature. This screen also shows the cumulative power consumed by month, and the total power through this smartplug since it was set up. The 2nd image was taken approx. 2 seconds after the heater came on (by thermostat). The 3rd image shows the device's power consumption by day.
This is like $60 per month running a space heater at $0.20 per kwh (supply and delivery unit cost)... not slick bro.

My Orbi does not allow the 5 GHz channel to be turned off. It can only be redued by 75%, but still broadcasts. It's an issue with some routers.

Got 2 sets. Awesome that you can flash Tasmota and have them work with Home Assistant.

I'm not familiar with this brand, i have a bunch of tp-link energy monitoring outlets but they block one outlet.

I use TP-link becuse they are a name brand and are less likely to be sending data back overseas.

As such, are these a Chinese nock off that i should worry about my data getting sent back to China or wherever?

Flash with open source Tasmota firmware. Bonus: you can calibrate the power readings so they're more accurate.
