It's been lower but still a great price. I've been wanting a new monitor for work (primarily coding) to replace the 2x 24 HD dell monitors Ive been using the past 4 years. The dell's work but Im looking forward to going boarderless and gaining some vertical height and resolution. At $400 (or less) I think it's a no brainer for that use case.

So you find this good for productivity as well? For me it would replace two 1080p 27 inch monitors. In my case I usually have two laptops hooked up. Can this do split screen easily?

Does this work with 2018 MacBook Pro 15. I'm sure it will work but is it worth it. I'm looking for something around 27 inch or above for MacBook Pro 15 2018

Just in case anyone else is curious, this monitor is not G-Sync compatible.

Split screen works really well up to three windows, beyond that it is a bit cramped on a 34" UW. I love it for studying; it is hard to use a tiny laptop screen now!

Any insight for a noob on what G-Sync is or means? Also debating on whether to go for this or dual 27 or 32 inch monitors. I use Adobe and excel for work and do not game so reading documents and typing texts is important. Any insight or recommendations are greatly appreciated!

G-sync and Freesync are both gaming firmware that automatically adjusts the screens refresh rate to match your refresh rate of you graphics card. It is useless for your needs.

I have this and it works well with my MacBook pro 2018 15".

Everything is good except the height is a little high for me. Or Maybe my back is too short?

Actually, it works excellently with FreeSync/G-Sync adaption. I ran this on a 1070 SLI setup without any issues, currently using my R9 Fury X for true Freesync with an almost identical quality experience. I have owned this monitor since December last year and it has been one of my favorite purchases. Truly, once you go ultrawide, you can't willingly go back.

Small bits:
Pixel density is excellent at 3440x1440, color is great, appears to have a 10-bit panel (8+FRC), OC range of 110-125Hz (will vary, mine is at 115Hz WITH FreeSync still on), and supports full YCbCr 4:4:4 to boot. After you properly calibrate this display, you will be ecstatic! (I recommend http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/)

However, a word of warning. Some of these have fantastic black levels, whereas others have a horrific IPS-glow backlight bleed (it's a VA panel as well, so this should not be occurring). To combat this, I keep my brightness between 15-30%. One model I received was in fact so bad, that I had Acer replace it. Your mileage may vary, I went through 3 of these displays and can confirm each panel was completely different in quality to the other. Acer does take the warranty support seriously, but you will be waiting weeks at a time to get your replacement back.
