For sizing, would it be best to go get measured? I haven't purchased a suit in years and will be needing one soon?

I don't buy a lot of suits, but how do you know the size of trousers you're going to get? Are they adjustable or something?

Suit includes: fully lined jacket and flat front, unlined pants with finished hem

Height recommendation: Short (S) = 5'7" and under; Regular (R) = 5'8"-5'11"; Long (L) = 6' and over

The pant waist will be your suit size -7 for this one

That's the length of the jacket you're quoting. For pants:

  • This suit has a 7" drop which is the difference between the size of jacket & pants. For example: a 40R jacket includes a 33W pant

Trousers are the suit size minus 6. So for 42 suit you'll get size 36 trousers

Get slightly bigger so you have room to tailor with. Better to go slightly bigger than shorter, so you don't get screwed.

So what if I uses a pant 36 and a jacket 46, what do I select.

Yea the baggy style of the 90s and early 2000s look better on us. These slim and modern fit suits look and feel a little weird for us heavy set dudes. It's ok though, round is still a shape =)
