My 2 cents. I purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga with the 1080 display. Everything about the computer was awesome, especially the TB3, build quality and feel. I took it to a friend's who'd just gotten a Dell (a brand I would never buy for several reasons, especially Michael Dell and LACK of build quality) with a 1440 display.

I sold my ThinkPad on craigslist and am now seeking one with a 1440 display. Bottom line for this deal: you may wish you had held out for a better display.

Look for the Ideapad 530S deal I have posted here at $949.00. Only issue is that does not have TB3 port.

It's because you stare at your smartphone all day. That 400dpi is easy to get used to.

This is a fantastic laptop. My son has a 710s. The 700-series laptops are the nicest lenovos outside of the Thinkpad Carbon series. I say this as the buyer of 10 thinkpads and 2 lenovos (710s and ideapad 500 gaming PC). The 700-series laptops are all-metal (like a macbook air), although the display housing is a little flimsy (it's part magnesium, part aluminum). The base is just regular aluminum and is more sturdy. The sides are plastic and my son chipped pieces off the side of his laptop.

I was thinking of buying this laptop friday when I saw the fantastic price on the website - this machine is basically highly superior to a macbook pro (superior in cpu horsepower AND in the GPU (rx455)!) which i'm typing on right now, from my employer, but this YOGA is roughly 1/4 the price. Then I came to slickdeals and saw it recommended, so of course I give it a +1, we already own the 13" version of this model from 2 years ago and the ergonomics haven't changed in this series.

i feel your pain since I have a 1080p 13 inch laptop now, while previously owning a 4k screen laptop. it's like a huge regression.
