No charge when I canceled and reconnected.
How did you do this? You canceled & how long before you reconnected? Did you use someone else's name or the same name?

Reading through the thread, it sounds like the answer is yes, but I'm looking for a bit of hand-holding, because for some reason, the thought of cancelling my internet service makes me very anxious.

I have an old grandfathered plan that includes 50/50 internet and local TV. We returned the cable box, so we can't actually watch the local TV but they keep increasing the price for that part of the package, I'm at about $85/mo before taxes. I own my router.

So my question: If I call and cancel my service on Sunday morning and then immediately sign up for this deal via the internet, I will have service on Monday without paying an installation fee or needing a technician to come out to my home?

Same name, And ordered online immediately after, When I called I picked the day before my last billing day. Same name, same address, same phone number, just a different verizon user name.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm at the tail end of a double play contract, tried to talk to someone in cancellations on Friday who wasn't listening to a word I was saying. I'm ready to cancel and then sign up online under this plan, but I really don't want to be without internet for very long.

Would be nice if Virginia would catch up to the rest of the east coast on internet infrastructure.

Verizon was good when we had it. In CA we got handed over to Frontier. I stayed with them for a couple of years hoping for improvements but all i got was increase in their fees and crap service. I got tired of calling them to get the latest "loyal customer" discount. If I've been with you for 10 years, I should get it automatically not have to call once every 3-6 months when one of the discount expires.

Anyone has any luck with the previous $50gc deal before this? After registering, it's been showing online as processing for months.

I'd be all over this like white on rice, but there's no Verizon landline presents in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Hasn't been since 2007. And it looks like they'll never be back.

All we have for a decent ISP here is Spectrum. 100/10 mbps at $65/mo is the best we can get for residential. We also have Consolidated (used to be Fairpoint) but their plans are pathetic.

I would totally recommend against pulling the triggger.

SD rebates has become an infamous scam to slickdealers.

You can check out the thread here to see how many people did not receive SD rebates.

https://slickdeals.net/f/13035154-earn-10-macy-s-egift-card-on-orders-25-after-slickdeals-rebate-free-store-pickup-at-macys?prop=prd-29200%7Cts-39487%7Cprt-1&src=featured-c-29200-39487

From personal experience, SD does not pay out the rebates. When you communicate with them, they claim that there was a system problem and that they have verified your purchase and the rebate will be paid out via paypal soon. And then, no more communications. Nada.

In my opinion, slickdealers should boycott SD rebates, report the practice to BBB, and their partners like Macys and Verizon, HSBC, etc.

I have the gigabit plan, but can't ever get the advertised speeds. This deals seems decent, so i may drop them and come back.
Are you subbed to comcasts gigabit pla? I recently upgraded and I am waiting for the service to be active. I was unhappy with the 250mbps plan and my promotion ended, price went up to 90$. I looked up gigabit plan with same price and decided to give it a try. I think they have 30 days for customers to cancel this plan if needed. Maybe 60 days for IL customers.

What are things you don't like with this plan other than not expected speeds. Also how is the speed looking.

Here is what you can do if you have another adult at your home. Sign up under their name and when it says there is connection already, say the current owner is moving out. At the time of installation they just swap the internet to the new account or you may have a loss of about 4-5 hrs max.

Do they do a hard pull of your credit for a new customer?
