Great TV but absoultly not worth $500 more than the 65" Q8FN.

EDIT:
The Rtings comparison to emphasis my view; a large price increase for a tiny performance increase.

Yeah I have been eyeing either the 2018 or 2019 Q8. I keep submitting offers for the 2018 but they don't seem to get accepted. Not sure what they are taking on the 55 inch

Yes it is. 480 zones vs 40 makes a difference. And it's not just peak brightness, but small highlights are brighter and make the image much more dynamic too.

Why are people still buying LCD TVs for OLED TV prices in 2019? Rebranding LCD to "QLED" or even "LED" doesn't change the fact it's still LCD. Only reason Samsung is pushing QLED is because OLED was not profitable enough, meaning it was expensive to produce for them, not enough margin.
I would still buy a lcd over oled. Oled is flawed technology. Easily prone to screen burn depending on how you use it. Phones watches tvs all oled screens have this issue. Look at 1-2 year old oled phones. You will see evidence of this 80% of the time in my opinion. You will hear things like the technology is improved etc but I don't believe it. It's inevitable. Unless you change tvs after 2-3 years I would not recommend anything oled for someone looking for 5-10 year use like with lcds.
Micro led is the tech that will surpass oled. Stay tuned for it in 2-3 years.

So your basically saying that people saw no value in paying extra for an OLED.

Wow I had no idea OLED burn in was that big of an issue , but after reading your post I googled and it sure is. I was leaning toward LG 77 C8 but now I may well get the 75 inch Q9FN. Anyone actually able to compare these two TVs yet?

This is the lowest price for arguably the best LCD 65" out there. Very nice. The Q8 only has 40 zones??

Yes I didn't believe the oled burn in issue until i searched youtube and found hundreds if not thousands of examples. Add that to all our oled screen phones have burn in (not a big issue on a 5 inch static screen, but stiil...).

My last comment. If the Q9 is to expensive for you, consider the visio pq65, available at Costco, and others, for under 1500 dollars. In addition to the brightest and best currently available panel (2500nits), it supports Dolby vision.
