Sure, just plug a 24v power brick into this timer to feed an inline sprinkler solenoid valve.
Whenever the solenoid valve is being fed electricity, the water flows. https://www.amazon.com/Orbit-5728...01MG1VV2M/

You'd need a timer that is made for a sprinkler system, that hooks up to the water line attached to the house then a hose attached to the timer.

I bought this last year. This one has 6 plugs and very rigid door to cover all the plugs and the timer itself. I like how they have a mechanism for the cords to go through while covering the plugs from water coming in from below. My only concern is weather proofing and sprinklers. This timer has stood well so far. I recommend this to those who want better weather proofed outdoor timer,Because it is very cheap now.

Newbie to outdoor timers and this is probably off topic... but I want to set a timer to start my lawn sprinkler. Could I use something like this to turn it on and off?
