Yes. It's been an elaborate plan, you see. It all started when I joined around 10 years ago. The 25 FP deals and numerous other submissions were all a cover for this exact moment to post about those batteries.

And I would have gotten away with it, too. If it weren't for those meddling kids!
I'm sorry about my previous post. Just didn't want someone to purchase that kit thinking they were 4Ah batteries (which would have been a good deal) and getting disappointed later.

If I had noticed your other thread earlier, I probably would have not said anything. Again, sorry.

If it is truly a 24wh battery that comes out to about 1.3ah. A quick search shows those batteries advertised as 2ah or 2.5ah. Either way, far less than the capacity of the batteries in this post.

The biggest difference you might notice other than capacity is weight. The batteries in this deal will last longer but they are also heavier if that makes a difference to you.
Thanks so much. I'm gathering from what you say that any Ryobi 18v battery would 'fit', it's just a matter of the power and weight, is that right? So all Ryobi 18v batteries are interchangeable?

Please post the link for the HP shells so I can do this.
I was in Microcenter about 1 hr ago. On the section between the components (Water cooling) and Laptops, is a section that sells replacement Laptop Batteries and screens.
They have some laptop batteries on clearance about $8-$16.
Usually those batteries [youtu.be] are the same as in drills, bluetooth speakers, etc.
Spot welding [youtube.com]or soldering them together and knowing there specs/database [secondlifestorage.com] .
You then can buy these cells from ebay [ebay.com], urlhasbeenblocked [urlhasbeenblocked.com] or alibaba. [alibaba.com]
You just have to know the mHa.

So open the Ryobi pack, search the specs of that battery and buy some. If you don't have the fancy screwdriver to open it, Harbor Freight sells them cheap.
I just did this on my Swiffer Vac. Cost me $27 for 6 batteries because I paid for them individually at Battery Plus store [batteriesplus.com] near me. . (different size then what I showed in links here in this post) then soldered them together with wire. If buying from Aliexpress etc, you can buy a group of 6 or 10... etc .
Works better then new and I have 2100mAh instead of 1600mAh batteries (longer lasting charge).

Good info how to search batteries [youtu.be] and part 2 [youtu.be]

But I don't have any HP batteries so all that is useless. That is why I would need a link to the HP shells.

Do the Ryobi packs have HP cells?
Why do you need HP Cells?
What is it going into?
Is it a laptop battery pack your trying to get?

No, these Ryobi's are the HP version, which is the newest version with the extra contacts.

Will these work with most of the ryobi tools? Such as trimmer and blowers?

All 18-volt Ryobi batteries will work in all 18-volt Ryobi tools (you just can't put Li-ion batteries in old Ni-Cd chargers).

This is one thing that really sets Ryobi apart from the competition since they haven't changed up battery platforms in decades, nothing is really obsoleted.

the 9Ah one is 20 CELLS Damn its going to be heavy BUT ryobi prefer to use high power cells instead of balanced one which means these will last longer even though its heavier than competition.

getting cheaper to build that e-bike battery. 2x 9Ah for $100 and I am in!
I lost patience waiting for cheap power-tool packs and put an order in for 60 3AH samsung 18650 cells for $150. I would have to buy #4 9Ah Ryobi packs to get same capacity. The money I saved more than paid for a quality BMS, and a battery spot-welder to build the pack with. :-)
