Steelseries has most of their headsets on sale right now, but the Arctis 7 is the best value in my opinion. I just grabbed one of these at Best Buy a few days ago for $129 and then realized that steelseries started a sale yesterday that includes a free storage bag. So I added the leather earpads for another $15 for a total of $119. No tax charged.

There are also some 10% and 12% coupon codes in you look around, but they won't apply to the sale prices.

Well, I got mine last night and it was a snap to setup.

The biggest complaints in this thread have been addressed in this 2019 version.

I have a larger than average head, with my hat size being about 7 3/4...and the vertical size is also above average (forget the #). It fit with an inch or so to spare between the inner support "elastic" and the outer hard band. And, on top of that, the band is adjustable and can add another inch onto that.

The ear pads are indeed much deeper, and I only feel a tiny bit of pressure on the top back of my ear. I have a pair of Logitech G35s and while they were larger in the "vertical" they still hit my ears on the back top. If there are replacements that have a larger opening, I would upgrade.

These things are LOUD! I was testing them while my SO was watching TV and accidentally had them at full volume, I had the headset dial on high before changing the output device in Win10, and I literally jumped out of the seat and ripped them off my head. I can't recall the final settings but I know it was around 1/3 the output and it was perfect for me.

I am seriously impressed by the "lag time." While testing them out in Discord I had less of a delay than with the G35s (we're talking 1 or 2 ms though). With the G35s I usually get in 2/3 words before the echo...these echoed in one word, typically.

So my initial impressions are that these are a fantastic value at $105. Hopefully I don't have too much in the way of connection issues (wireless will always have minor hiccups).

So...thanks again OP!

Will they work fine with my Xbox one? Or do I need something else to make them work?

FYI I bought the leather pads and my ears no longer come into contact with the headset. Worth the extra cash in my opinion.

Did you contact them? Do so. If they don't get you a new one call your credit card and file a dispute.

Damn! I was going to get them but wanted to see if this model's pads were sufficient. Oh well, thanks for that info, I'll order them.

V worth the price. Fortunately I have not experienced any of the issues that have been reported here. Basic setup was as simple as plugging the transmitter into either the PS4 or PC whichever I am playing at the time.

I use them throughout the day at work and then use them once I'm home for games and comfort hasn't been an issue.

I received mine and they were brand new.

Just posting in case others go looking for a comparison of the Arctis 7 versus something else (in my case the Philips SPH9500).

Comfort: It's OK. Not super comfortable but not awful. I don't particularly like the way it sits on my head. The SPH9500 is a lot more comfortable and a LOT cooler on my ears.
Wirelessness: I can walk pretty much anywhere in my house without it dropping.
Sound quality: It sounds Ok but it's not what I would call good. The Philips SPH9500s absolutely crush this thing. I didn't think the difference would be much but it is HUGE. The Philips headset has a much larger sound stage, punchier highs, better bass, and is all around a much better sounding headset.
Mic quality: No complaints from my Discord buddies.
Build quality: The Arctis 7 seems well made. Can't really say much more than that. The Philips is good too.
Other things: The Mic mute button on the Arctic 7 is kind of hard to find sometimes as it is flush with the surrounding plastic. The gaming/chat adjustment wheel is pretty awesome though I haven't found that I use it all that often as I generally have Discord at high volume and just adjust games to a lower volume when needed.

Bottom line: If you HAVE to have wireless this wasn't a bad deal for $100ish. I'll probably return it though as the Philips 9500 with the VModa Boom Pro is in a whole other league in regards to comfort and audio quality.

Yes, its a bit difficult to talk to them, they have so far offered me a return and they will give me $25 off of a repurchase which is a bit lame as they have put the price back up on them

Briefly reviewed the comments and didn't see it mentioned. The Wireless Pro version is also on sale for $279.99 (normally $329.00) and also comes with the free carrying bag. Originally dismissed this post since I recently bought the pro version a few days ago but went back to check their site. Was happy to see the Pro on sale and save $50.00 on my recent purchase.

For quality, I have been using these non stop for the last few days. Excellent mid to high ranges although there is a little to be desired bass wise. The fact that the wireless pro does Bluetooth and PC audio is amazing. I can answer calls and watch content on my phone without interrupting my PC audio stream. Im hoping the Galaxy S8 gets the Pie update soon to get the built in Dolby equalizer.

Hope this helps! OP, I'd update the main post if possible to add that this is also on sale.
Damn, that kinda sells it for me. Is there an easy way to search for headsets with that 2-devices-at the same time ability? Is there a specific word for that feature?

Were there any other signs of use? I always check the seals before opening stuff and I noticed that it looked like half of the seal had cracked at the bend. The other half was intact.

I received an open box item as well. Box was in a loose plastic bag, taped on the bottom with scotch tape and the seal on the box was already cut open. This was clearly opened before. I'll fix their a$$.

Well, should say several weeks on, after I plugged them into my pc and see they were fully charged I decided I wasn't happy so returned them. Finally got a refund of the money spent, just waiting for the return postage now.. Their technical support is so slow. Lucky if they respond in a couple of working days
