Fantastic deal. AMD is starting to mop the floor with Intel on the CPU front. Google just selected AMD today for their data centers to run their new streaming game console. I own an original Ryzen 1700 and haven't run into anything even remotely CPU-bound. Even if you like Intel, you have to admit Ryzen has really become a top-tier viable CPU option for enthusiasts.

The CPU is overkill for gaming on a budget as the 2600 is more than enough for gaming and even streaming to boot while the SSD is on the poor side when the EX920 is so reasonably priced. Having said that it's a good deal so why not?

If I were to design a better bundle, I would have bumped down CPU to a 2600 ($75 less) and used that cost savings to include a better SSD like a bigger EX920 ($30 or $90 more for 512GB or 1TB).

Imagine a Ryzen 2600, same mobo and 512GB EX920 for $260

This is only three of the components you'd need to build a computer. It doesn't come with a psu you'd still have to buy one
You definitely still need a video card and ram for this since theres no onboard graphics, but essentially 5 components and you get a PC with power supply

In case anyone else was confused, the picture shows a Intel SSD box which is the wrong picture. Small booboo from Newegg.

Basically after the combo discount ($96.98) you are paying ~$3 for the motherboard.

Just fyi, depending on the bios version the board ships with, it may not even be compatible with the 2700 out of the box.

According to Gigabyte website, the BIOS revisions jumped from F1 to F20 (and then above), F20 was minimum for this CPU, so chances are pretty good to great it will handle it out of the box.

Just a heads up that people are not receiving their codes. So don't let the bundle offer be your decision on this. There's dozens of threads but here is one as proof:

Some people have waited for weeks. Then submitted proof of purchase and never heard back.

I have an i5-6500 but I think I should wait until ryzen 3 before upgrading. It's so tempting to have a more powerful PC though.

Very nice deal - the processor alone is typically $250!
