This is a good value for those that own the base game as buying both packs above will get you most of the DLC that was later included/collected in the 'Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition' version. -slickdewmaster

Final Fantasy XV DLC (Xbox One Digital):
Video Explanation [youtube.com]

For owners of the base copy of Final Fantasy XV. Note: If you only purchase both packs above, there will be still a number of optional $0.49 DLC packs featuring weapons/costumes/car "paint jobs" that would also be included when buying the Royal Edition ($15 - $20 on sale for physical or $25 for digital [microsoft.com]).
* If you own 'Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition', you already own both packs above.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

How is your comment relevant at all to the deal?

I played all Final Fantasy games as well and thought FF15 was great, one of my favorites. I've replayed it twice, love the characters and the open world was a great addition.

Don't muddy the comment section with your opinion that's unrelated to the slick deal. Seeing as these are DLCs, people coming here already own the game and can form their own opinions.

Seems like if you want the DLC only go with the Season Pass. If you like the extras listed below then go with the Royal Pack but the Royal Pack does not include everything the Royal Edition has.

Royal Pack Features:
・Insomnia City Ruins - new map leading straight to the game's climactic end
・First-Person View - mode allowing players to see Eos through Noctis's eyes
・Armiger Unleashed - powered-up combat mode
・Royal Cruiser - open-sea exploration, new fishing spots and recipes
・Regalia Type-D - new acquisition and enhancement quests
・Additional Achievements

Season Pass:
- Holiday Pack +
- Booster Pack +
- Episode Gladiolus
- Episode Ignis
- Episode Prompto
- Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades

Too bad I own it on PS4. Another instance when I should have been a more patient gamer.

You need to purchase both packs to have everything?

The Royal Edition for $25 includes all the Season Pass stuff, and then the Royal Pack for $7.50 says it includes "all new content included in FINAL FANTASY XV ROYAL EDITION", but I don't see anywhere it explicitly says it does or does not include the Season Pass content.

From what I read, "the royal edition" includes the base game and all additional content. "The royal pack" includes first person view, a map that leads you straight to the final battle in insomnia once you get there, a new powered up combat mode, use of the royal cruiser, more enhancement quests to the regalia and other additional quests.

You would need to purchase this and the season pass to have everything that's in the Royal edition.

Royal Edition == Base Game + Season Pass + Royal Pack DLC

Season Pass contains the three Character Episodes + Comrades, and a few small packs that can only be gotten with SP (like the Holiday Pack+ and Booster Pack+). Clicking through to the Season Pass description pretty clearly lists what's included.

Royal Pack DLC (not to be confused with Royal Edition), is a kind of surprise DLC that came out when Royal Edition came out. It is not included in the Season Pass, and is basically an easier way for people who already own base game and SP to get the new content without having to rebuy the whole game via Royal Edition.

If you already own Base game - buy SP and Royal Pack DLC

if you already own Base Game and SP - then just buy Royal Pack DLC.

If you don't own any of it, then buy Royal Edition (technically at this price you can buy SP and Royal Pack DLC, and then find a used copy of the base game for under $10, but that's so much hassle lol)

Yes there is a separate category under FFXV for the Royal Pack trophies. (iirc each of the DLCs have their own set of trophies)

when will this game quit bobing to the surface like an unwanted item in the bathroom?

Worst FF game EVER!
I have played the entire series and yes I even played this one all the way through because of the morbid hope that it might have something to justify it's existence.... but no it did not.

This game was the only time I have played a FF game and wanted my time back afterward.

For those of you who actually like the game, more power to ya.
For me it was an extremely painful experience to play through.

Judging by a hearty review on the royal dlc from a season pass owner they say no so you want everything both need to be bought.

Funny how they darken and add a half face image of the guy on the left to fake people into believing maybe there may be a black character in the series. Shameful tactic.
