It would be so helpful if any title it was mentioned the seller then the item. I probably would'nt have even looked if I saw Newegg as seller.
I have had nothing but good experiences with Newegg. Are they known for bad service?

I trust the carbon but not the lower end models.

How good will this be for my wife not to bitch constantly that her "PC sucks" and "wont work"?
She will start complaining about her laptop sucks and won't work

I also use Newegg all the time and have never had any problems. I would like to know what the original poster is talking about in regards to Newegg.

A long time ago (approx 10 years or more) AMD processors were very much slower than Intel's. I would boot computers up side by side everyday at work and there was a world of difference. It was very known. Are AMD chips still like that?

Newegg has a problematic return policy (restocking fee/ you pay shipping no matter what) - the only reason I used them in the past was no tax in NY, now I avoid it altogether.

Ok, I get it. I have never had to return anything from them so I didn't know about their policy. They charge tax in NY now so I understand you avoiding them.

Intel had a strong lead over AMD for a really long time but with Ryzen, AMD has closed the gap and although the i5 with integrated 620 has better single core preformance than a Ryzen 5, the Ryzen 5 with Vega 8 preforms better for light gaming or and many other tasks,

After seeing so many threads where people return their perfectly fine 2-day old laptop for a slightly better deal, I feel some empathy for Newegg...

Doubtful, but divorce would get her out of your ear.

Newegg is no longer a good merchant. Took me 4 months of fighting to get my $600 back after returning damaged products!

got the 128GB SSD version for $380 awhile back and the battery isn't that bad. when i'm using battery i mostly use it for doc editing or web browsing and i get 5-6 hours. oh i don't run it at 100% screen brightness either.

performs really well and plays the games i hoped it would when i'm home (skater xl, rocket league, etc)
