I bought 2 last week, and I am using one now. It is fantastic! It can control FireTV stick through CEC. I connected 6 devices to the remote, including a smart TV, an A/V receiver, a Blueray player, a Karaoke/DVD player, an Android box and a FireTV stick. All of them work well.

I've owned 3 of the Logitech 650s, I have 3 Logitech 300 and now have the Harmony hub.

The 650s are by far the worst models and I'll tell you why. They have this very delicate accelerator type sensor that turns the screen on when you pick it up but it's very sensitive and tends to go out. ALL 3 of my 650s had this fail. Just because your 650 works doesn't mean this isn't a problem/weak point. This results in the battery draining and eventually the remote not turning on at all.

The logitech 300s are better in that they do not have this sensor nor do they have a screen. But because it is the lowest model, the buttons are not as great. 1 of my logitech 300 volume buttons just stopped working entirely after a year.

The harmony hub however, is quite a step up from the other 2 and it shows. The remote is extremely durable, there are no mechanical moving parts that are sensitive to being dropped or shaked, it doesn't require any sort of IR path or direct pointing, you can just press a button and the control center picks it up. It also has an app that you can use if you like that, which I don't use.

No, it will not. You need the Harmony hub to control the Shield tv

You can turn off that feature in the settings, it's a simple fix about the screen on the 650. The 650 is a great remote, had it for years, would still be using one if it weren't for my PS4. I will agree that the hub remote is better, the only feature I miss is backlit buttons. Having long press button capabilities is a game changer imho.

Terrible remote. I really wish I didn't buy it... the PC software is crap, and 99% of the time I have to run through the help assistant because it can't run the activities I setup correctly. Definitely avoid it....

You can turn it off but it doesn't change that the sensor is able to be damaged. The remote started having issues boot looping once the sensor broke so I imagine turning it off via software doesn't address it fully if the sensor breaks completely
